An exclusive hideaway seating just 22 diners, The Oval at The Wellesley Hotel pays homage to the finest traditions of Italian cuisine. The stunning Art Deco dining room conjures images of a true Italian family feast, with glossy marble and smooth, pastel pink leather adding a touch of luxury.
Alongside gourmet pizzas and sumptuous meats from the grill, indulge in bold signature seafood dishes from The Oval menu, like homemade cod brandade ravioli, or salt-crusted wild sea bass with seasonal vegetables. Decadent Italian desserts include dark chocolate fondant with crunchy hazelnut, or classic tiramisu.
The Wellesley Hotel in London also hosts live music sessions in its 1920s-style Jazz Lounge.

We went for £35 per person 3 course meal after enjoyed the afternoon tea there a while ago. The starter Pan Fried Squid was lovely and I liked the presentation. My main course Roast Guinea Fowl was a bit disappointing as it had soggy skin and no much effort was made to the presentation but the taste was okay. My husband's Seabass was good and he enjoyed it. The best thing about the whole dinning experience was the service. We were given very nice bread basket accompanied one of the best olive oil I've ever had free of charge. We also received a couple of complimentary dishes from the chef which was very nice touch. Having our dessert at Jazz lounge watching the live performance was the highlight.

Beautiful elegant dining room. And lovely welcoming staff. We all enjoyed the menu and I had Vitello tonnato a classic with a twist. The desserts were a work of art

Given the fantastic reviews we had great expectations for this restaurant and overall we thought it could have been better. Service and ambiance was excellent however the food was disappointing.

As a family of four we enjoyed e very pleasant evening here. The food was excellent, with lots of little extras (amouse bouche, pre-dessert, chocolates even without coffee), and we feel we got very good value for money. Service was also very good, discrete and just the right side of formality. Our only big complaint would be the charge of £6.50 for a 750ml bottle of water, and that the waiter opened a second one without asking. Which meant it cost £15 (including the 12.5% service charge) for 1.5l of water...which is silly. I would be happy to return, but will be more careful next time. This was actually our 2nd time, and it was as good as the first time, and the set menu with champagne (goo quality stuff) is extremely good value for money. One final comment.... we were the only guests in the restaurant, which whilst good for service does lower the ambience. A real shame because the Oval Room is beautiful and more people should come and try it!

First visit. Beautiful ambiance & decor as you enter hotel & the Oval Restaurant. Had 3 courses with champagne dining option. Starter calamari was well presented to detail & very tasty. My vegetarian ravioli with aubergine was nicely put together little quantity but filling. Guinea fowl breast sat in a bed of mashed potatoe, nicely presented, cooked to perfection. Coconut & lime dessert was best I've had as usually little effort is made at other restaurants in 5* hotels. Excellent meal offer. Champagne was Veuve which was lovely. Service exemplary, efficient, prompt & attentive. We were moved to other dining room to listen to jazz live music & had desserts, coffee & cocktails in there. A nice touch. Lovely classy hotel, fab decor, fab staff, nice food. Would return. A must visit.
