Excellent service, food and ambience, all our food choices were tasty, the sweet potato fries were the best I have ever tasted. I had the duck and it was delicious.

Very cold inside plus log fire not working as too expensive to repair ! ... the manageress rude and unhelpful ... most of the staff unable to communicate as lever of English poor and often got orders wrong ... service extremely slow and even totally forgot our drinks ... general atmosphere poor and dining wooden tables and chairs very uncomfortable ... starters where good but roast poor ... pork just slices roll and roast potatoes dreadful obviously bought in already peeled but more like new potatoes ... used to be a lovely place but will not be returning !

Good selection of beers, nice food and really good service. Deserts are all really sweet and sugary so avoid if you don't like them too sweet.

Staff were unhelpful and and unpleasant. It seemed as if they resented us for disturbing them! Food was ok but I will not be going back.
