Very quiet as we visited on a Monday evening. This was a return visit and the food was again excellent.

A really enjoyable evening, from the pre-drink to food which was superbly cooked, well presented and excellent flavours. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The place had a good feel about it and is in a pleasant setting overlooking the square.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very welcoming. The food is really fantastic - everything we ate was delicious. The service was a little cold from one particular member of staff, which we found a little odd. One staff member was very friendly and described certain menu items in great detail. We ordered some cocktails, but my husband's was very odd, simply a bottle of beer and a miniature of whiskey, with two glasses...When we asked the waiter what it was all about, he tried to explain, then brought some ice (at our request) for the whiskey and my husband just drank the two drinks separately. To be charged over £15 for this was a little much and I wish we'd fed this back, or asked for it be removed from the bill, in hindsight (I just felt it may be very awkward at the time). Not my idea of a cocktail! I would however return, we really enjoyed our dinner and the food is really great. We also had a very nice after dinner cocktail each!

Food was good - though some dishes rather small - and the service was prompt and charming. However, for 4 people at £179 (only three glasses of wine), it's vastly overpriced. We would have expected to pay around £120 to £130.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch here recently. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent and although the portions may be a little small, they were ideal for me ! Stow on the Wold is a beautiful place so the location could not have been better. Pity it’s so far from where we live as this would be a regular eating place for us
