A welcoming village pub with traditional style and modern gastropub flavours, The Old Lion is an inviting spot for leisurely meals. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, and there are crackling log fires to relax by with a glass of wine or cask ale.
The Old Lion menu is a modern example of British gastropub excellence, with classic dishes sitting alongside contemporary flavours. Artisan breaded brie with a red berry jelly is a great sharer to start off with, moving on to pub favourites like cod and chips or homemade pie of the day. There are rustic pizzas cooked in the stone oven, and succulent steaks and burgers from the grill menu too.
Enjoy generous Sunday roasts at The Old Lion in Rugby, featuring a choice of slow-cooked meats with all the trimmings. Local cask ales and ciders are served at the bar, as well as a concise wine list and extensive choice of international spirits.
A homely pub with modern updates and a gourmet menu, The Old Lion is a 9-minute drive from Rugby Rail Station.

We went for a family meal at The Old Lion. The food & drink was stunning. The waitress Dominika was absolutely amazing nothing was too much trouble and made us feel so welcome.

Thank you for an excellent meal. We had been to the Old Lion some time ago and had a poor meal. However, this time it was most enjoyable and the service was excellent. The food was cooked well with good presentation.
We will definitely come again!

Terrible food. Very disappointed. Menu on website totally different from actual menu in restaurant. Lemon chicken very dry and tough (had to use a steak knife to cut it!). Katsu curry chicken simply awful. Dry breaded chicken with dry minimal curry over top. Thick and dry and totally tasteless. Rice was glutinous and thick. The food has really gone down since changed owners 4 weeks ago. Before it was the best pub food in Rugby. Fish and chips were good but not great. Pizza was excellent as fresh stone baked. I won’t be going back.

Lovely friendly staff, they really make you feel welcome. The chef even came out to see if we had enjoyed the meal!

Great atmosphere, expanding menu and steak and Piza are excellent. Presentation of The starter soups is second to none.

Waitress was fantastic, very knowledgeable. Service was good. Thought the menu was quite limited for mains. Lots of choices of starters. Food overall was very good

We had been to the pub before the change in management and it was great. This visit was no so good; service was very slow and the food average. It wasn't awful but not good enough to entice us back.

Beautiful meal - we had a few of the sharing plates followed by a main each! Lots of yummy food washed down with a nice bottle of Malbec! Will definitely be back.
