Lovely friendly staff and nice relaxed ambiance. Nice meal at reasonable prices and nice to round off with a coffee by the fireside. Will definitely be back .

Afternoon tea was lovely and good value for money - and I like that you can have this menu at lunchtime too.
We were dismayed to find that the 'disabled' toilet was only a larger cubicle with random support bars fitted on the walls where no one would be able to reach them - and therefore would not be fit for elderly people needing more support sitting down / standing up or indeed anyone with disability.

This is a lovely old hotel in Frodsham's Main Street. We had a tasty cream tea at a very reasonable cost but it's a pity we were the only ones there. My only (minor) complaint is that the 'scones' we're not the sort traditionally expected with a cream tea. They were quite small, no crumbling texture and no fruit. Although we had cream and jam I would have liked butter as well (but I'm sure it would have been provided if I'd asked).
We live locally and will probably go back.

Everything very nice except one thing. I had specifically asked for dining chairs rather than low chairs. When we arrived we were told that dining chairs were in the dining room and this room was not used for afternoon teas. I had to be persistant to get the chairs required.

The hotel is lovely and was nice and quiet in the room we were seated in which was nice. The afternoon tea was brought out straight away. The food was lovely and it was an enjoyable afternoon. The waitresses were very friendly.
