the food did taste lovely, but was let down by the main meal and dessert being cold, the crumble was in a bowl that was red hot,but the crumble was cold,so had obviously been warmed in the microwave, and the roast dinner would of been lovely had it not been let down by being cold.

Built in the 17th-century, The Old Farmhouse near Darlington is a traditional country pub, serving well-loved British food in a beautiful setting. Close to a number of tranquil waterways, the pub has eye-catching, ivy-enclosed walls, which can be enjoyed along with the food from the beer garden. Interiorly, rustic features characterise The Old Farmhouse, with luxurious sofas, a warm log-fire and dark oaken beams.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Old Farmhouse menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Old Farmhouse ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Old Farmhouse is just 6 minutes’ drive to Darlington.

We were given a very nice table not too close to other diners. Only one slight complaint was that nobody asked if we wanted another drink, but we saw staff were busy with other tables.

Dined here many times. Food excellent. The service is second to none. Staff are always polite and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

Very easy to book on line. I've eaten there quite a few times recently and the service and food have both been excellent.

Had lunch regrets yesterday. It was very busy and service was very slow but the staff were pleasant and apologetic. For my main course I had the small fried souther chicken - the taste was excellent but I would have had more meat on a budgerigar - definitely not value for money.
