We had lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy, and there was one large party eating there; the proprietor went to the trouble of telephoning me to warn us about the existing booking for 24 people and to suggest that we might like to arrive a little earlier so that they could look after us properly. Some of us chose the 3-course set lunch, others opted for the a la carte menu. As ever we appreciated the prevalence of locally sourced produce. The service was unhurried, courteous and helpful, even though the staff had to deal with so many calls on their attention. We all agreed that we could not fault the food, wine, or service. I have known The Old Bakery since it opened and enjoyed every visit over the years. I think this meal was quite possibly the best one yet, for consistency and sureness of touch.

My friend and I stayed at The Old Bakery for one night at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lincoln. The room was adequate and very clean with a separate bathroom. Our breakfast was fantastic and very good value at just [$] for Full English and continental breakfast. We would definately stay here again.
