Restaurant description

A Michelin-starred restaurant inside a 15th-century thatched building, The Nut Tree Inn Murcott blends rural charm with modern British cuisine. With a relaxed feel and tranquil outdoor seating, the pub also boasts tranquil outdoor sitting overlooking Oxfordshire countryside.

Fresh, local produce packs The Nut Tree Inn menu, which changes regularly to adapt to the seasons. Expect the likes of grilled fillet of aged Charolais beef with dripping-cooked chips, olive oil-poached Scottish halibut with green herb risotto, or handmade ravioli with truffle velouté. Gourmet twists on pub classics can be found in dishes like pork sausages with mash and onion gravy, and smoked salmon fishcakes with tomato butter sauce.

Indulgent desserts at The Nut Tree Inn near Bicester include black cherry soufflé with Earl Grey tea sorbet, and warm chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream. At the bar, real ales and fine wines are served in a classic country pub setting.

Combining award-winning food with rustic charm, The Nut Tree Inn Oxfordshire is a village pub packed with character. Close to the M40 motorway, both Bicester and Oxford are a short drive away.

Another return for more treats. The little touches, not on the menu, are most impressive; as in the popping sensation of the lemon amuse-bouche, a wide selection of delicious, home-made breads, the gorgeous caramel chocolate truffles with the coffee - all rounded off our gourmet lunch beautifully. If beef is your pleasure - well, you cannot go wrong by ordering the one on the menu - succulent and so tender if almost melts in your mouth! The pork belly is excellent too and artistically served. This restaurant certainly does not disappoint. Covid hasn't dampened the real flair in the kitchen, the staff are well protected, the place very clean and tables well spaced. Thank you Nut Tree for another excellent meal.

My husband and I booked this to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We couldn’t fault the service and the staff were warm and welcoming. This is the first Michelin starred restaurant I have visited that has changed the wine selection on the wine flight to match my non fish dish off the taster menu (changed due to an allergy). I really appreciated this little touch.
