With stunning views over Weymouth's harbour from the terrace, The Nothe Tavern serves up a great selection of local fish and other gourmet British treats. The interior feels like a cosy, quaint rural cottage, and the terrace is perfect for al fresco dining in the sunshine.
The Nothe Tavern menu champions traditional British flavours with inventive tweaks. Signature specials include the Nothe Tavern artisan pie with root vegetables, as well as guinea fowl with asparagus spears, herb crushed potatoes and a creamy Tuscan red wine sauce. Fresh Portland crab is served with avocado mousse and sweet orange purée, and there are dedicated vegan and children's menus too.
A sweet end to the menu at The Nothe Tavern in Weymouth includes treats like double chocolate and salted caramel tarts with berry compote, while from the bar there are international beers on tap, bottles of bubbles, and a selection of fine wines.
The terrace at The Nothe Tavern is a hugely popular summer hangout, and there is always a warm, welcoming ambience to be found all throughout the day. Weymouth Rail Station is just a 10-minute drive away.

We moved to Weymouth last year and found The Nothe Tavern on one of our holidays in previous years. Since moving here we have taken many of our friends and family to The Nothe when they have come to visit us and we have never been disappointed yet!! It's great location and atmosphere is a definite winner and last night chef Saxon surpassed himself with cooking as requested my steak perfectly blue but with no blood!!!! All four us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we will be back again soon!!!

Menu - not like it was on line - not enough snacks - drinks not available due to no pumps working and bottling up had not yet occurred so no J2O - but when we left it was available. Very slow drink to table service. Food not that good. Toilet floor sticky and napkins used to wipe your hands. Place seemed dirty. Staff not trained. No supervisor. Seemed dirty

Service very poor: used to be good, friendly. Is now flustered and sometimes surly.
Drinks - when the orders were finally delivered correctly - were ok though pepsi is not a good substitute for coke and consumers should be warned.
Food mediocre to very poor. Items on the menu should be those delivered eg no noticeable cassoulet beans nor chorizo on the plate of dried out confit of duck Nothing other than a tomato puree smear with a few shavings of cheese is not 'The Works' on a pizza, French Fries are golden, crisp fingers of potato not the pallid, undercooked ones provided.
A good restaurant should know what a calypso (or even an Irish) coffee (even after an explanation) is and certainly not supply an overfilled cup of latte with a drop of tia maria in it in a slopped-in saucer!
Bills should be correct and not contain un-ordered and un-received items. Menu items far too expensive for the quality and poor service.
This was not fine dining and was embarrassing for us, the hosts, for recommending what was not a good evening. It was obvious from the start that the place has changed owners and kitchen/waiting staff.
Good points: parking was free after 6 pm and our guests enjoyed the walk up by the Fort

Staff were friendly. Order was taken incorrectly for the starter. The roast potato on one dish were so hard we had trouble cutting them. The crab linguine with chilly had very little crab, no heat from chilly and the pasta was over-cooked. Reasonable prices but disappointing overall.

I had read very good reviews about this restaurant, but was disappointed after paying a visit. My son had the wrong order, my wife's sirloin steak was very chewy and my rack of ribs was dry it did not fall off the bone, I also had to ask for a finger bowl.
Our starters were good I had the muscles, but again no finger bowl? We had 3 different waitresses and thought that they needed more support as they seemed to be rushed off their feet. Disappointing visit

Lovely food. Friendly, efficient service. Chose this place to entertain visitors, as one of the best places to eat in Weymouth. Wasn’t disappointed.

Very friendly staff and nice surroundings. Also dog friendly even in the restaurant area.
