With stunning views over Weymouth's harbour from the terrace, The Nothe Tavern serves up a great selection of local fish and other gourmet British treats. The interior feels like a cosy, quaint rural cottage, and the terrace is perfect for al fresco dining in the sunshine.
The Nothe Tavern menu champions traditional British flavours with inventive tweaks. Signature specials include the Nothe Tavern artisan pie with root vegetables, as well as guinea fowl with asparagus spears, herb crushed potatoes and a creamy Tuscan red wine sauce. Fresh Portland crab is served with avocado mousse and sweet orange purée, and there are dedicated vegan and children's menus too.
A sweet end to the menu at The Nothe Tavern in Weymouth includes treats like double chocolate and salted caramel tarts with berry compote, while from the bar there are international beers on tap, bottles of bubbles, and a selection of fine wines.
The terrace at The Nothe Tavern is a hugely popular summer hangout, and there is always a warm, welcoming ambience to be found all throughout the day. Weymouth Rail Station is just a 10-minute drive away.

Customer reviews for The Nothe Tavern

I visited with a friend before a theatre show. We both had a pizza, different toppings, small potions. We both enjoyed them, we had a side salad. All of which were very nice. We both had ice cream for pudding and this was also very tasty and well presented. The drinks we ordered were served well, the Stoford Press cider I had was delightful! The decor was clean, light, bright and colourful. The service was very good, all staff seemed well trained and attentive.

Disappointed that they no longer do carvery, over all I was disappointed with the Sunday roast, the veg was too hard, not enough roast potatoes and hardly any gravy,no stuffing either! Also waited half hour for our meal

Didn't get off to the best start. When we walked in, although the dining area was quite busy, there were two members of staff behind the bar who were dealing with glass cleaning because they had no-one to serve. Neither of them greeted us, and left us standing there for a while. Eventually one of them acknowledged us by asking "Do you guys just want drinks?" I explained that we had made a booking online. She went over to a computer to check, then returned to say someone else would come and deal with us shortly. We were then left standing at the bar for several minutes. No one behind the bar asked us if we would like a drink or a menu. Eventually the same member of staff came back and pointed across to a table that had been empty all the time and said "That's your table over there"
The first piece of good customer service was from the person who I think may have been the restaurant manager. She offered us a table closer to the window when my wife made a comment to my sister about the view across the harbour.
A waitress took our orders for drinks and then we waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually the manager came to our table and asked us if we'd like drinks. We said we had ordered some but they hadn't arrived. She went and retrieved them from the bar where I think they had been sitting for quite a while.
The food was OK, the pub has been nicely refurbished/decorated. The actual dining experience was reasonably pleasant.
At the end of the meal we went up to the bar to pay. There were no staff around. We waited and eventually someone came out. Perhaps she'd had a long and difficult evening but her manner and her body language when she thrust the card machine at us made us feel as though she was completely fed up and couldn't wait for us to leave.
What could have been a far better experience was spoiled by very disappointing customer service.

You are welcomed by cheerful friendly staff. The tavern has a warm homely feeling as soon as you enter. The menu has a good choice to cater for all the family. The food is amazing. It was the best meal of our stay in Weymouth the put the finishing touches on to our 5 day stay. The tavern has amazing views from the sun terrace. If you have the opportunity to visit The Nothe Tavern Weymouth it is well worth it.

Really nice pub with views over Weymouth. Food was top end pub grub, and staff were brilliant. Never been there before but will be back for sure.

Lovely views from the dining room. Good selection of beers. We had traditional fish and chips and lamb of the specials board both beautifully cooked and presented. The bottle of water on the table was a nice touch. Treated ourselves to apple crumble and spotted dick for dessert again both lovely and good value for money. Would definitely go back, great for couples and groups.
