Really great. Went twice in ten days and when our next lot of visitors come we'll take them too. Friendly waiter interesting food - my only complaint being I would like the specials written on a board so that we can consider them more easily.

A beautiful 16th-century building, The New Inn sits in the heart of the village of Cerne Abbas. Recommended in the Good Pub Guide, local produce goes into a menu of pub classics with contemporary twists, all served amidst rustic wooden floors and beams. From the bar, sample a selection of real ales and ciders, and an extensive wine list.

Went for New Years Day/Sunday roast. Did not disappoint. Friendly and attentive (but not overly) service. Soup starter was delicious, as was langoustine and smoked salmon. Beef cooked to perfection (one rare, one medium rare) and the vegetables, as before, were the best we have had anywhere. Absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend.

The New Inn has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and is a very pleasant location for lunch. My husband had the Sunday roast which he assured me was superb and I had fish which was very good. The selection of fresh vegetables was delicious. The desserts were slightly disappointing - rather small portions. The service overall was very good.. Some of the tables are rather close together and we could overhear most of the conversation from the one nearest to us
