Part of the team named Pub Group of the Year 2013 by The Good Pub Guide, The Nevill Crest and Gun is a much-loved, family-friendly hideaway from Brunning & Price. As well as the token pub hospitality, enjoy freshly-cooked British food, silky cask beers, affordable wine and a specialist stock of malt whiskies. Quick-bite sandwiches and nostalgic puddings are on offer, and little ones can choose from their very own range of mini dishes.

With the building dating back 500 years, the cosy dining room features reclaimed wooden furnishings, gnarled beams and nooks & crannies, while picnic tables line the lush al fresco terrace in summer.

Always a pleasant experience. We had a table in the conservatory as requested and enjoyed a leisurely lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was lovely and the staff friendly. I always enjoy looking at the gardens too, as they are beautifully kept. The signs of spring were clearly there. A real treat overall.

The restaurant is in a very attractive building and has a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant, unfortunately the food was disappointing . I had battered haddock and my husband had pork, both were rather dry and lacking in taste. It did not compare at all well with other local pubs. The wine was quite good.

Went with another couple. We chose widely from the menu and nobody was disappointed. Service was slightly slow but it was a fairly busy night and we were not in a hurry.
Surroundings were 'olde inn' with loads of exposed timbers.

Great place to eat, the menu is varied and changes regularly. Can't pick a favourite dish they are all so good! New manager is friendly and the whole staff are pleasant and helpful. Slightly too pricey for frequent use but definitely a special occasion favourite. I and my family had a really great time.

NICELY GREETED AND SHOWN TO TABLE. NOT A LARGE MENU BUT ALL THE PUB FAVOURITES AND SOME NICE LIGHT BITES. FAIRLY PRICED WINE LIST AND GOOD BEERS ON TAP.
