Housed within a beautiful 500 year-old listed building in Tunbridge Wells, The Nevill Crest and Gun is a charming pub and restaurant from award-winning pub group, Brunning and Price. Modern gastro-pub cuisine is served under historic Tudor beams, while an expansive barn-roofed conservatory looks out onto the garden.

Dining from The Nevill Crest and Gun menu features tasty international dishes such as a crispy satay beef salad, with toasted peanuts, bean sprouts, chilli, radish and water chestnuts, and the hummus and spicy courgette wrap, served with mint yoghurt and crisps. There are plenty of British classics, including mouth-watering slow-roast belly pork, while a kid’s menu offers up bite-size portions of pub favourites.

Wines at The Nevill Crest and Gun in Tunbridge Wells are an exquisite selection from France and the New World, while locally-brewed beers are on tap. As well as history-steeped undulating Tudor ceilings, there’s a large garden area with picnic benches and a children’s play frame.

The Nevill Crest and Gun sits on Eridge Road, 7 minutes’ drive from Tunbridge Wells Station.

Always a pleasant experience. We had a table in the conservatory as requested and enjoyed a leisurely lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was lovely and the staff friendly. I always enjoy looking at the gardens too, as they are beautifully kept. The signs of spring were clearly there. A real treat overall.

The restaurant is in a very attractive building and has a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant, unfortunately the food was disappointing . I had battered haddock and my husband had pork, both were rather dry and lacking in taste. It did not compare at all well with other local pubs. The wine was quite good.

Went with another couple. We chose widely from the menu and nobody was disappointed. Service was slightly slow but it was a fairly busy night and we were not in a hurry.
Surroundings were 'olde inn' with loads of exposed timbers.

Great place to eat, the menu is varied and changes regularly. Can't pick a favourite dish they are all so good! New manager is friendly and the whole staff are pleasant and helpful. Slightly too pricey for frequent use but definitely a special occasion favourite. I and my family had a really great time.
