Awarded an AA Rosette for “Culinary Excellence” & voted Publican Magazine’s ‘Food Pub of the Year’ & ‘Accommodation Pub of the Year’ for the region, The Nags Head is a family-run restaurant & inn offering celebrated Anglo-French cuisine in a 15th-century setting. A tasteful retreat in the countryside, it was also named one of BBC Countryfile’s ‘Top 55 Cosiest Country Pubs in Britain'.
Among the Michelin-recommended dishes on The Nags Head menu one finds 21-day-aged fillet of Bedfordshire beef served with green peppercorn-flavoured brandy cream sauce or port jus & wild mushrooms, honey-glazed ox cheek cooked in local ale & served with steamed vegetables, and leg of lamb brochette & crispy croquette of shredded lamb shoulder served with rosemary jus.
The venue boasts elegant contemporary styling, with old-world features offset by sophisticated urban flourishes, and a sprawling garden by the River Misbourne for sun-drenched al fresco dining in the summer. The Nags Head dessert menu features crepes filled with a Cointreau mascarpone cream & citrus fruit, and the comforting pear & forest fruit bread-and-butter pudding.
The Nags Head is a 4-minute drive from Great Missenden Rail Station.
