What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £6.95 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Having been tastefully refurbished, The Mossbrook near Sheffield looks as if it is an original 18th-century farmhouse, replete with stone walls and rustic interior. Serving an accomplished menu of well-loved British food, Chesterfield sofas, a cosy hearth and gnarled oak beams aid the rural character. Your food can also be savoured from the pretty al fresco garden on warm days.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Mossbrook menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies designed by celebrity chef James Martin offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Mossbrook ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
Buried in the Yorkshire countryside at Eckington, The Mossbrook is just 18 minutes’ drive from Sheffield.

Good standard of dishes. Waitress pointed us to an early week set menu which was good value for money. Consistent service throughout.

Landlords welcome is non existent you feel like you’re walking around his house and he doesn’t want you there. The bar staff and waiters are fantastic nothing is to much trouble. The food is good , reasonable price , a bit uninspired, you struggle to make a choice. The bar is expensive , a bottle of corona and a glass of wine was nearly £11 ! But the atmosphere is good and the staff are lovely.

The food was great although we did wait quite a while for it. The venue was pleasant although we were a little shocked at the stale food stuck in the grooves on the top of our table. Unfortunately, the bar prices were disappointing. We are bar owners ourselves and the drinks at the Mossbrook, particularly the wines were extortianate, a very ordinary variety costing more than a bottle would cost elsewhere. Nice food, shame about the dirt and the bar prices.

Meet with friends for late lunch get together. The weather was lovely and sunny and people were sat outside on the terrace. It was very quiet in the restaurant due to the time of our booking (4.30pm), but this did leave us with flexibility by having a drink outside first as we arrived at 4.30. Our table was situated in a cosy corner with lots of mirrors, and allowed us privacy. We weren't rushed to leave our table after the meal, even though the restaurant was getting busier by then. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
