Restaurant description

An 18th-century Grade-II listed coaching inn, The Mitre is a stunning Greenwich pub. Perfectly located for the Cutty Sark and Royal Observatory, there is a tranquil beer garden with blankets provided when the temperature drops.

A collection of gastropub recipes can be found on The Mitre menu, including English cider battered fish and chips, sausages and mash, as well as international additions like southern-fried chicken with slaw and house dip. There are vegetarian options like brie tart with black grape, sherry and caramelised onion chutney, and also a 'build-your-own burger' menu.

The Mitre Greenwich serves up a great selection of carefully picked ales and beers which are frequently rotated, along with an international wine list. Desserts include decadent mandarin and orange liquor Belgian chocolate torte, and a popular British cheese board.

With 4* AA-rated hotel rooms above the pub, The Mitre London is only 4 minutes' walk from Cutty Sark Tube Station.

Really good food and friendly staff! The steak was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. They were also very accommodating with one of my friends dietary restrictions.

The pub has lovely decor and a nice ambience. I'd heard great things about the food here from friends. However, we were left disappointed. The table they'd reserved for us was right by the front door, and we got blasted with extremely cold air every time someone opened it! We asked to move and were eventually offered space around in their hotel reception area, so missed out on the pub ambience and decor but at least didn't have to sit in our coats. The food itself was also disappointing - we had roasts and the beef was very tough and dry. Wouldn't come here again for a Sunday roast unfortunately.
