Excellent reception on arrival, complimentary drink for our daughter when the landlord found it was her birthday, Meals were as advertised and really tasty. I was impressed with the pie, pastry all round, not a stew with a lid.

The pub itself is beautiful and it’s surroundings are beautiful, unfortunately that is where it ends.
It was a disorganized mess. It seemed to be fun by a husband and wife who clearly didn’t have a clue. The food was not as described on the menu and was under cooked. We tried to order drinks but they kept forgetting our order. When trying to complain the waitress vanished as quick as possible.
When trying to complain when paying the girl at bar fell apart.
The final straw was when the land lord decided to show a customer how to eat the cray fish by picking up god food from his plate and shelling it with his fingers. There is so much more. It was like faulty towers. Shame as it has potential to be lovely

I'm a regular customer and have had many wonderful meals at The Mill so I brought friends for dinner on Sunday. Having warmly recommended the place and the food, I was irritated not to get any service from the 3 members of staff at the bar. In the end I went to the bar to request a wine list. Once we'd decided which wine I had to go to the bar again to order a bottle. The 3 staff members were all there. Maybe table service has stopped? Our meals were indifferent.
I will come again to see if this was just a bad night - I hope so.

Me and my husband came here for 5th wedding anniversary as we had our wedding reception there. But nothing but disappointment for us the service, it seemed if you weren't a local you didnt get spoken to. Staff were shouting across the room to each other to say what needed doing thru out the restaurant. The food was lovely but we didn't get a check back once. Also the person a older man who owns it or maybe a manager I thought he was a customer until he went round the bar and poured himself a drink! as some of staff had there own tops on black trousers and then some were all in black. So maybe have some sort of uniform and have name tags and stating what your position is?
So overall was a real disappointment and spoilt it so we wont be back in a hurry and wouldn't recommend to friends or family.

Not as good this time round.
leaving bar unattended by anyone from security point of view not good ,could of walked out without paying..
Think service has dropped since last time and this may be due to staff released.

Great reception, made to feel as if we were family coming to lunch. Perfect service, attentive but not intrusive. Good menu explained by the patron, who dealt with us as if we were the only people there. Absolutely A1* food. We will go back there frequently..

We thought the oap menu was on as per website . My wife enjoyed burger and chips and I enjoyed pie and mash although the cook was very sparing with the mash and veg . My wife gave me her bun from her burger as I was still very hungry . But what a lovely setting , we shall return but maybe less hungry . The staff were lovely.
