Restaurant description

Inside a beautiful art deco building that curves along the coast of Morecambe Bay, The Midland Hotel Restaurant serves contemporary recipes with stunning sea views from the striking sun terrace, with its floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Midland Hotel Restaurant menu uses fresh produce from across Lancashire, as well as seafood caught out in the bay next to the hotel. To start, there are Morecambe Bay shrimps served warm with toasted sourdough, as well as rabbit ballontine with puy lentils, bacon, carrots and parsley. A range of meats include fillet steak, braised pork belly, and roast rump of Lakeland lamb with soft herb polenta, salsa verde and crispy capers. There are also vegetarian recipes such as butternut squash, ricotta and spinach pancake.

Sumptuous sweet treats to finish include coconut crème brûlée with shortbread biscuit, as well as inventive creations like the salted white chocolate financier with passionfruit and popcorn. There is a great selection of British cheeses, as well as a full wine list.

Treat yourself to a decadent Afternoon Tea at the The Midland Hotel Restaurant, served on its spectacular Sun Terrace which offers panoramic views across Morecambe Bay. Enjoy a three-tiered selection of delicate finger sandwiches, homemade finger cakes and fruit and plain scones as well as the finest loose leaf teas or even a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne.

Also offering a dedicated gluten-free menu, The Midland Hotel Restaurant in Lancashire is a 9-minute walk from Morecambe Rail Station.

Excellent all round. Great service from waiters and waitress. Good menu choice and daily specials, blade of beef, were chosen by two from our party of four -good portion sizes! Covid awareness was obvious and appreciated by our party. Hard to fault.

A little piece of Miami in Morecambe. Small but beautifully formed, the interior is beautiful sympathetically restored with a modern twist, Afternoon tea is served in the sun room, we were lucky with the weather a bright sunny day with spectacular views across the bay. I can't praise the Midland staff highly enough, they are wonderful, helpful, charming and full of northern humour - a real asset!! We were there for afternoon which at £25 ppl with a.glass of Prosecco was fantastic value. Good selection of vegetarian sandwiches(as requested) especially the cucumber (tho there only seemed to be one...luckily I got it). A good selection of cakes, The Lemon and Pistachio Profiterole and Victoria sponge with butter cream were very good. The white chocolate tart was disappointingly bland. However the Blueberry meringue made up it, it was definitely our favourite, Delicious warm scones (fruited and plain served with clotted cream and both strawberry and raspberry(?) jam.. perfect! We would definitely visit again

Afternoon Tea on the terrace. Perfect setting for an afternoon treat. Beautiful views across the bay to the south lakes. Excellent , professional staff, beautiful fresh sandwich selection and home made cakes and scones. Endless tea or coffee refills. Reasonably priced. Top the experience off with a glass of fizz. Perfectly executed covid regulations. Felt very safe. Have visited before, several times and will continue to do so. Highly recommend

Lovely choice of cakes and the scones were gorgeous, soft and slightly warm. There was also a good assortment of sandwich fingers. The restaurant is a lovely spot overlooking the sea front. Due to Covid the choice of teas were limited in comparison to our previous visits. As it was mum's 86th birthday we were disappointed that we were not given a window table as I had requested. There was one available when we went in with three chairs around it. This table was eventually given to a couple so it had not been specifically allocated to another group of three.
