Lovely fresh sandwiches. My friend is an expert on custard tarts, said it was the best she had tasted.

Inside a beautiful art deco building that curves along the coast of Morecambe Bay, The Midland Hotel Restaurant serves contemporary recipes with stunning sea views from the striking sun terrace, with its floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Midland Hotel Restaurant menu uses fresh produce from across Lancashire, as well as seafood caught out in the bay next to the hotel. To start, there are Morecambe Bay shrimps served warm with toasted sourdough, as well as rabbit ballontine with puy lentils, bacon, carrots and parsley. A range of meats include fillet steak, braised pork belly, and roast rump of Lakeland lamb with soft herb polenta, salsa verde and crispy capers. There are also vegetarian recipes such as butternut squash, ricotta and spinach pancake.

Sumptuous sweet treats to finish include coconut crème brûlée with shortbread biscuit, as well as inventive creations like the salted white chocolate financier with passionfruit and popcorn. There is a great selection of British cheeses, as well as a full wine list.

Also offering a dedicated gluten-free menu, The Midland Hotel Restaurant in Lancashire is a 9-minute walk from Morecambe Rail Station.

Food excellent, air conditioning poor, view to die for, service good to okay - table move with anniversary sparkles done immediately. A couple of unexpected waits between requests for extra bread, no butter with first bread offer, ages between being asked if we'd like to see the dessert menu and its arrival.

We both really enjoyed our Afternoon Tea, there was not really a best feature it was all so good, the food, the service, the welcome the staff. The only downside if it was one was the sun it made the room rather hot until a door was opened to let in some air but this was done as soon as we mentioned the heat.

Food and service excellent. Views from the restaurant superb. Ambience on that particular evening not so good as it was rather wild and very noisy. I guess the party people had been partying for quite some time!

Apple parfait delicious but could have been a more generous portion.

Very busy. Some dishes lacked flavour. We had the impression that the hotel were just trying to cater for too many customers.

The always seems to be shining every time we dine at the midland hotel Morecambe, with beautiful views of the sweeping sandy bay and out across the sparking sea only complementing the truly fantastic decor and design of this wonderful restaurant. The menu changed to reflect the seasons, is truly mouth watering! The presentation of the food, beautiful and the taste sensational.

Excellent food (sticky toffee pud to die for), reasonably priced wines, good service, lovely restaurant location. We loved it.
