What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £6.95 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
With balconies overlooking the river Goyt and fireplaces to warm it up, The Midland is a traditional pub & restaurant in the leafy village of Marple Bridge. Serving a variety of uncomplicated, wholesome British dishes, the pub is dotted with dark wooden tables & cushioned chairs, and tiled floors add to its rustic charm.
Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Midland menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.
A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Midland cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.
The Midland - Marple Bridge in Manchester is a 2-minute walk from Marple Rail Station.

Wonderful, friendly and efficient service. Saw to the toddlers immediately before they worked their chaos! Lovely food, generous helpings but not overfacing. Excellent menu.

Food very good and mainly good service Problem with live music as singer too close to the large round table where we sat - we could not hear one another as gd was too loud and too near us

Gosh the glasses of wine were expensive one large glass of Rose was over £8 . Had we realised we would have bought a bottle or taken advantage of the two course menu .. so customers should just check the price of a glass of wine before buying.

We were a party of five people. Two of our party had the vegetarian option i.e. Roasted Butternut Squash & Sweet Potato Tart for their main meal. They were not very impressed with this. The lady next to me chose this dish so I myself was able to see what was on her plate and it wasn't much I have to say. As regards the sweet menu, I chose Dulce de Leche Lava Fondant on the grounds that I've had this sweet before at your restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. However, this time I thought the sweet was very much smaller compared with what I had last time and so I was thoroughly disappointed. This sweet is definitely not worth anything like the price I had to pay i.e. £6.95 which was I thought was monstrous. Apart from this, everything was very good.

Food was fabulous! Definitely recommend. Whilst we understand that it was busy, customer service needs working on - nobody asked if our food was ok, no salt and pepper, etc on the table and nobody to ask, small things that make a big difference.
