Restaurant description

From the 18th-century, The Mermaid near Wolverhampton is a traditional British country pub, serving well-loved meals in an attractive rural setting. With views of Wightwick Manor and Smestow Brook, the al fresco beer garden is a great location to savour your food. Inside, the hearth warms winter dining, and the chunky beams and appealing artwork add to the old-world charm.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Mermaid menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Mermaid ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

At just 6 minutes’ drive to Wolverhampton, The Mermaid is a close country haven to the city.

Enjoyed a beautiful Neal at the Mermaid on Sunday 20th November. The ambience of the restaurant is always good but the staff attention was exemplary and I had asked for specific seating arrangement which were provided, will definitely be returning!

Food and service excellent, pub a little chilly, was sat near the entrance door and a cold breeze came in each time the door was opened.

We had a lovely time. Always enjoy going to The Mermaid as the atmosphere is really welcoming and homely. We enjoyed our meal but wish there were more vegetarian options and sad that the halloumi n chips has been removed from menu. Bring it back !!
