From the 18th-century, The Mermaid near Wolverhampton is a traditional British country pub, serving well-loved meals in an attractive rural setting. With views of Wightwick Manor and Smestow Brook, the al fresco beer garden is a great location to savour your food. Inside, the hearth warms winter dining, and the chunky beams and appealing artwork add to the old-world charm.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Mermaid menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Mermaid ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
At just 6 minutes’ drive to Wolverhampton, The Mermaid is a close country haven to the city.

Really poor dining experience last night. Service was terrible, almost non existent and the the wait for luke warm, mediocre food was unacceptably long. We didn't get asked if we wanted dessert, but had given up at this point anyway. Over priced and all round disappointing. Will not be returning any time soon.

Booking the table was easy online. I had also asked for a table up a corner with our friends which was provided, although I needn't have worried as the pub has a lovely ambience. The pub was quite busy at lunchtime an although we had to wait a little while for our meal due to a member of staff being absent, the service was provided with a smile and we were checked on by the remaining two staff, one of which was the Manager. The food was beautifully presented and we would definitely go back again. I am giving this place full marks because we have all had times where we have had to cover for sickness and holidays and take on extra workload.

lovely pub and good service, however the food was not so good...!! Steak was very tough, and pate starter was only average. It was a shame as we have eaten here before and really enjoyed it.
