From the 18th-century, The Mermaid near Wolverhampton is a traditional British country pub, serving well-loved meals in an attractive rural setting. With views of Wightwick Manor and Smestow Brook, the al fresco beer garden is a great location to savour your food. Inside, the hearth warms winter dining, and the chunky beams and appealing artwork add to the old-world charm.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Mermaid menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Mermaid ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
At just 6 minutes’ drive to Wolverhampton, The Mermaid is a close country haven to the city.

Service very slow last night. My food was overcooked. Others in the party found food ok. No special menu last night either. Waitresses very pleasant and helpful

lovely pub and good service, however the food was not so good...!! Steak was very tough, and pate starter was only average. It was a shame as we have eaten here before and really enjoyed it.

It was a birthday celebration meal with friends. The waitress Farrah was informative pleasant, polite and observed the present bag with happy birthday printed all over it. After she had advised us on a specialist gin with rhubarb and an additional ginger ale. She promptly served our drinks and also gave us a complimentary glass of Prosecco with a fresh strawberry on the side of the glass. We were thrilled at this point and this set the tone throughout the whole meal. We all chose different foods and everything was beautifully presented,no one was disappointed.. We were in for a real treat... the food and service was excellent... the cost fair... the venue comfortable with back ground music...But most of all there were smiling faces everywhere!!!
