Restaurant description

In an historic Hammersmith building, The Melody Restaurant in Hammersmith takes its name from a 1971 British film which features several scenes in the then St Paul's School. Adding a modern European twist to classic French cuisine, Fresh, Mediterranean dishes are created using seasonal produce.

The Melody Restaurant menu offers tempting Mediterranean classics like seafood spaghetti and vegetarian risotto, alongside grill favourites. Try a succulent sirloin steak with fresh vegetables and red wine sauce, or grilled chicken fillet with garlic, crushed peppercorns, capers and lime juice. Fish dishes include pan-fried sea bass, grilled tuna steak, and fried king prawns wrapped in smoked salmon and served with homemade dill sauce.

The sophisticated surrounds of The Melody also play host to classic afternoon teas. Melody's open sandwiches, pastries and scones are accompanied by a selection of teas, coffees or champagne.

Close to both Olympia and the Hammersmith Apollo, The Melody Restaurant in London is a 5-minute walk from Barons Court Tube Station.

Afternoon tea with old friends. We really enjoyed our time at Melody. The staff were attentive, food lovely and the champagne was certainly free flowing. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. We’ll definitely be returning and recommending the venue.

Beautiful place with lovely Christmas decorations. The sandwichs were delicious and the service was very kind. We had choosed the free flowing champagne option : the champagne is very good (I'm French, so I know champagne!) and our glasses were never empty. We will come back for sure!

This is our third time to Melody and we’re not disappointed. The food was delicious and the staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. It was indeed free flowing champagne and well worth the money

We had afternoon tea here. Cakes were good with a nice selection. The sandwiches which was more like toast was ok but would have been better as a sandwich. Champagne was free flowing and our glass was regularly topped up.

Overall disappointing. Great location. The ham hock terrine was excellent but the roast hake smelled so fishy and well passed its best. The service was a bit of fiasco. Lovely ladies but we were offered the dessert menu after the starter. They had a great problem understanding 'gluten free' and whether items contained flour. Then there was a big issue paying part of the bill by cash. We won't be returning in a hurry.
