In an historic Hammersmith building, The Melody Restaurant in Hammersmith takes its name from a 1971 British film which features several scenes in the then St Paul's School. Adding a modern European twist to classic French cuisine, Fresh, Mediterranean dishes are created using seasonal produce.

The Melody Restaurant menu offers tempting Mediterranean classics like seafood spaghetti and vegetarian risotto, alongside grill favourites. Try a succulent sirloin steak with fresh vegetables and red wine sauce, or grilled chicken fillet with garlic, crushed peppercorns, capers and lime juice. Fish dishes include pan-fried sea bass, grilled tuna steak, and fried king prawns wrapped in smoked salmon and served with homemade dill sauce.

The sophisticated surrounds of The Melody also play host to classic afternoon teas. Traditional sandwiches, pastries and scones are accompanied by a selection of teas, coffees or champagne. Oozing traditional British elegance, the restaurant serves a range of chic cocktails. Every Sunday, Melody hosts a lavish Sunday Roast on a carvery with many changing starters and desserts. From the Melody Whisky Bar, sample more than 200 whiskies from around the world including exclusive and rare labels.

Close to both Olympia and the Hammersmith Apollo, The Melody Restaurant in London is a 5-minute walk from Barons Court Tube Station.

I was initially approached by a rather rude staff who roughly flip the menu in front of me and demanded to know whether I was rather to order or not. The attitude was unacceptable of which I immediately requested for the manager to attended to me instead. The menu was different from what was initially posted on the internet thus the confusion when I was given the menu. I was handed a weekend roast menu and it was the manager who explained that although there was a change of menu, the price would still be honoured as advertised according to the 3 courses.
As we were the first customers in the restaurant, the staff probably just started preparing for lunch and was very nosy and talking to each other loudly and the ambience was greatly affected.
My impression of the Melody at St Paul's is not a good experience and I would not recommend this place to others. It's a pity such an interesting looking place is tarnished by the unprofessionalism of its serving staff.
The food is alright and the dessert is rather impressive but then to come back and be served by unprofessional people is the last thing on my agenda.

Very nice tea time. Good sandwiches, scones and petit fours. Professional and very helpful service (I had to postpone and charge my phone and both wasn’t any problem and handled very kindly). Nice atmosphere. Nice champagne. Only little thing that I would have expected differently, the tea came in bags and I would have expected loose leaf – but that’s a little thing that did not greatly affect a very nice tea time experience.
