The food was excellent. There was lots of choice, including plenty of vegetarian options for my partner. The Sunday lunch was the best i'd had in a long time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The children were also well catered for. The only let down was the cleanliness. As soon as we got to the table I remarked to my partner how it didn't look that clean. The floor was dirty. I changed my baby in the disabled toilet and there was no toilet paper and the seat was dirty. There was a fly constantly buzzing around our table (not their fault but must have seen my persistent swatting). It's a shame as everything else was so good. We'd love to go back on a sunny day and sit in what looked like a very nice outside area.

We were greeted by friendly staff, who took us to our table & explained the options for placing our order. We chose to order & pay via the app, but paper, disposable menus were available. Subsequent drinks and deserts were ordered with the waitress. The food & wine were both tasty, and the waitress gave us some recommendations for desert, which we agreed to, and didn’t regret. The pavlova was delicious! We’ll be back soon. It was all very safe & friendly, and a nice sense of normal.

Very pleased the Maynard has returned. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. The new measures have been adopted well so you feel safe but not stifled. A great experience of dining out after lockdown.

All okay but a bit pricey. We felt that our meal was a little sparse and needed some fresh vegetables to make more complete. Sorry, we don't rate red cabbage for this purpose especially as an extra charge side order. Showing good potential.

Very pleasant surroundings, excellent waitress. My belly pork was slightly overcooked, but still tasted nice. My cloudy beer shandy tasted very good. We had a pleasant evening meal, and we will return. Triple cooked chips were nothing special and abit disappointing.

The best feature was the ambiance and decor of the new bar and restaurant. The attentiveness of the staff was first class. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. We were a party of six and almost all chose something different. The food was well presented and hot but we felt that some dishes were trying to be a little bit too fancy. The shepherds pie was disappointing in that it contained a large amount of fat and very little meat. The polenta chips with the monk tail were soggy. The curry contained a large amount of French beans. The sweets were all agreeable but rather expensive. General comments after the meal were that it could have been much better. I hope that this is a positive set of comments because overall we felt it was a very nice place to socialise. I will recommend this to other people.
