Nice restaurant and food. Very busy on night we went so service was very slow.

Situated on the River Yare and the small waterways south of Norwich, The Marsh Harrier has enjoyed its beautiful location since 1840. Tastefully refurbished, it serves classic British pub cuisine in a rustic design, with log piles, a vintage brick hearth and homely trinkets adorning the furniture. The al fresco beer garden for summer dining boasts fantastic views of the eye-catching building and surrounding countryside.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Marsh Harrier menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Marsh Harrier ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

At just 5 minutes’ drive from Norwich, The Marsh Harrier is the perfect country destination close to the city.

food ok waiting time for meal service dreadful (45mins+) not good enough ,as not many customers at the time.I think staffing levels need reviewing!!!
This was our second visit ,the first was equally bad (very long wait nearly 1 1/2 hours despite booking !!) NOT ENOUGH STAFF for the size of the venue won't be coming again

Roast dinner very tasty, good potatoes.Plenty of gravy. Parsnips slightly underdone and hard in the centre. Rest was fine. Overall cost slightly higher than competitors, but compensated by pleasant surroundings and ambience. Staff very attentive and helpful.

Service was pleasant and attentive. Food was enjoyable and good value. Parking is a little limited for popularity of restaurant.

Arrived at 5-15pm for my daughters birthday and was seated promptly, 30minutes late I went to the bar to order my own drinks and asked if he could take our food order " give me 2 sec's" , Ten minutes later I went to find a waitress who informed me "She was just about to come to take our order, Funny that, only 8 tables were seated so really not busy, placed our order to be informed "no fish and chips tonight", English pub grub I thought, was told she would check and did we have an alternative, we did, Could the kitchen heat up some pasta for our 16 month granddaughter, NO, health and safety I presume so my son-in-law went back home to heat it, only 5 minutes up the road but not the point, anyway so off she went, 25 minutes later the food arrived and its a good job we weren't hungry as the lamb shank looked like it came off a new born lamb, Ham egg and chips more of a starter but I was told the burgers were nice. All in all VERY POOR SERVICE AND PORTIONS.Maybe its a ploy to get you to buy desserts as well mmmm . Will never return to the Marsh Harrier, Ipswich road, Norwich

Wife and self had Sunday lunch, good food and good service. Both had roast lunch but looked at the menu and will visit on a week night

The new decor and ambience is very nice indeed. The clearing of foliage from the car park area was long overdue. The menu still had our favourites on there and the meal was excellent. The service however was very lacking - there were just not enough people doing service. We had to wait endlessly for our coffee order and when I went up to ask was asked if I still wanted them, as if it would have been helpful to the staff if I had cancelled. Also there was no ice as the machine was broken evidently and our chilled water was brought to the table and the girl said 'well it's not hot'!!

Third visit, first 2 times poor service but nice food. We only went back a third time as we had a voucher. This time the service was fine but all roast meals were cold , the cauliflower cheese was sent back as cold (as from a fridge) second batch was just as cold (only the surface was warm) . 1 Beer returned and given another which was cloudy and undrinkable. We didn't complain as there is no point but just won't go back
