Highlights on the menu include roast partridge with cocotte potato, quince, curly kale, streaky bacon & green cobnuts, fillets of Dover sole with black trompette mushrooms, sweetcorn, sea vegetables & chive dauphine, and venison loin with root vegetable pan haggerty, elderberry sauce, black cabbage & Ashmore cheese.

The enticing dessert menu is headed up by a delicious hedgerow Eton Mess with cassis sorbet and winter fruits compote. An impressive bar stock features Old and New World wines, as well as bins from Kentish vineyards, and beers from local breweries.

The restaurant is living on past glories. It is not as good as it used to be - we have been a few times in the past. When we arrived we had to ask for our coats to be taken. We sat in the lounge before lunch but we had to go and ask for drinks and I had to ask for the music to be turned down because it was too loud an inappropriate. In the restaurant during lunch the service was ok and the food was good but the Yorkshire puddings were over cooked and my wife bit on some Star Annaise in the red cabbage which tasted horrible. The chocolate marquise pudding was delicious but the base was so hard it was very difficult to eat.

The food was simply delicious. The scallops, sea bream, lamb and pork were snaffled up by our party!

Food was very tasty and well presented. The pork belly was yummy. Panacotta desert was amazing.

The restaurant has been tastefully refurbished and from the moment we stepped inside we were met by friendly staff. The food was quite nice but the portions were quite small and the soup though lovely could have been hotter. The star of the show was the desert of chocolate and dark cherries which was yummy.

Friendly welcome, service efficient, chef's homemade cakes delicious, don't usually eat eclairs but those homemade one's were lovely. Decor very fresh and clean. Staff very attentive not over powering.
