Excellent service and great fish . We shared a large John Dory which absolutely perfect. We have eaten there many times and will continue to do so

Headed by Michelin-starred chef Nathan Outlaw, The Mariners Public House is a contemporary pub and restaurant overlooking the Camel Estuary. Fantastic local produce is served, with live music events also featuring.

The Mariners Public House menu is packed with freshly caught seafood – there are Cornish mussels cooked in Wolf Rock IPA, Porthilly oysters with shallot vinegar, and potted Cornish crab served with Doom Bar bread. Steaks at The Mariners come exclusively from South West Farms, aged on the bone for 28-32 days.

There is also a popular Sunday lunch menu at The Mariners Public House Rock, including free range roast pork, vegetarian options like rosemary gnocchi, and desserts like Cornwall strawberries with vanilla set cream. As well as beers from Sharpe's Brewery, there are over 20 bottled varieties from around the world.

Showcasing the very best in Cornish produce, The Mariners Public House is a 35-minute drive from Roche Rail Station.

"The highlight of our week". We spent it generally relaxing and touring around, enjoying Cornwall's scenery. The Mariners was booked for our last night and we undoubtedly kept the best until last. The view over the estuary is stunning, the food fabulous and the service polite and efficient. As a birthday treat I ordered a John Dory starter followed by the Moorland Cross Sirloin Steak whilst my wife had the pork terrine followed by Rump of Lamb. All we can say is "fabulous, fabulous, fabulous" worth every penny. Another major upside was "no dogs in the restaurant" My only regret for this visit is that I was driving so couldn't avail myself of the wine menu to accompany the food. Still, can't blame The Mariners for that.

Excellent highly recommend the food was superb one of the best rib eye steaks I have been served anywhere. We ate downstairs as dogs are not allowed in the upstairs restaurant where we had booked a table for 5. The 2 chaps behind the bar could not have been more accommodating or helpful and although we had to order at the bar the rest of the meal was served and presented as if in the restaurant itself. The staff provided an excellent service and clearly care about the restaurant and experience of the guests. The car park is much too far away to comfortably leave the dogs hence being downstairs otherwise a great evening.

A warm welcome, friendly staff who obviously love their job. The food was fantastic, fresh and beautifully presented. We‘ll be back again, this place is a winner.

Really enjoyed the evening and our meal. Service very good and servers were very friendly and cheerful throughout. Didn’t like the bread served with my smoked salmon starter as too hard to compliment the flavour of the fish otherwise great.
