Staff were lovely. Very helpful.
Nice atmosphere, great to have real fires.
Food ok but Leak and potato soup that we all chose was very disappointing.
As the driver I had water to drink so can't really comment. Coffee was fine.
mini desert - my Eton mess was good but friend's pie was too mini!

In an area of great historic value, The March Hare near Cheadle is a traditional country pub, offering classic British dishes. Set over the Micker Brook River, the lovely gardens boasts stunning views, with al fresco seating for summer dining. Inside, the rustic brick fireplace, oak beams and Chesterfield sofas offer visual appeal.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The March Hare menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The March Hare ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The March Hare is well-connected, at just a 13-minute walk from Cheadle Hulme Train Station, and 7 minutes’ driving from Stockport.

First let me say we have eaten many times previously at the March Hare and have always been happy. However this was our first visit for some time and it was very disappointing. At the time when we arrived the building was empty apart from one table of two and one or two people sat outside. Eventually the two young ladies behind the bar finished their conversation and one of them came to seat us. A drinks order was taken and delivered but we then waited, and waited and waited for our order to be taken. Eventually we had to go to the bar to ask if we could order our meal. This was then taken and obviously there was a delay whilst the food was prepared and this is accepted. However once we had eaten our main course, we waited and waited and waited. Eventually we had to go to the bar to ask if our table could be cleared and an order for sweets taken. Finally we waited and waited at the bar to pay our bill. At this stage a young man, who was possibly the manager appeared and when we explained our problems, he generously discounted the bill, which was good of him, but the delays should not have happened in the first place. The restaurant was moderately busy, but it should have been well within the capability of two staff to look after. I would respectfully suggest that some retraining is required.

This was a night out with friends for my birthday and we all enjoyed it immensely. Staff were extremely helpful and the food was very good. Considering how busy the restaurant was the service was excellent. We are fairly frequent visitors and will continue to be so.

The food was delicious and the service was friendly and polite. It was busy though and our puddings didn't come and so were knocked off the bill. Service was a bit slow.

Enjoyed the sea bass and my friends liked their meals, pizza and sirloin steak.
Free proseco for my birthday was a nice touch
A friend drinks Guinness and there was none as St Patrick's day was the day before a little unfortunate
