The Man of Kent is a delightful traditional coaching inn dating back to 1588. It has many attractive features, including the low beamed ceilings, oak doors and large inglenook fireplace. Old beer tankards and amusing brass plaques adorn the beams. Licensees Ben Ryan and Kelly Stoney took over on 29th February 2000; originally from Manchester, their goal is to provide top-quality food and drink which can be enjoyed in the friendliest possible surroundings - a goal they are well on their way to achieving, as befits their personal motto: Good Beer, Good Food, Good Company. A mix of locals and visitors rub shoulders quite happily, comprising walkers, tourists, boaters off the Medway and more.
