Beautiful location and the decor matches the regal feel of the area. I thought it would be perfect after a visit to Buckingham Palace, skipped lunch to treat friends for their 1st afternoon tea experience. The table setting was impeccable, the decor and ambiance excited me with expectation Sadly I couldn't enjoy it due to poor training of waiting staff. They really need to raise their standards and supervision. I would love to come back if their service improves.
No individual tea strainer. Same ones used to poor different tea.
Our order was taken wrong and we were served 4 scones for 5 people and 4 tiny sandwiches with a few tiny cakes we had to cut up I pieces to share.
We asked for a special birthday request and the timing was awkward.
We had to walk to the bar to look for staff to fix charges in our bill.
No tea tray to sample the tra fragrances before ordering.
No hot water top up check.
Overall, don't go if you've been spoiled with top class service

We had a lovely time, nothing was too much bother for them. We had the Afternoon Tea and the sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the scones were to die for, they just melted in my mouth and they were the best I have ever tasted. The Game Bird room had a lovely homely feeling with lovely comfy sofa's, subdued lighting with music playing in the background. I would go back again :)

Stylishly decorated, very attentive service. My friend loved the salmon starter and I enjoyed my tender chicken main. The treacle tart was very decadent! Champagne and petit fours were delicious.

An absolute gem of a, recently restored, restaurant that is in a treasure of a hidden away hotel. The mews seating area of the American Bar is brilliant for a pre-meal drink. We had a really lovely time with very attentive staff who were both helpful and knowledgeable. The food was good and the menu offered choices that should cater for all tastes. My recommendation would be give The Game Bird a try you won't be disappointed.
