We loved the ambiance, the chairs were fun and comfortable, the selection of teas were impressive. Also enjoyed the selection of sandwiches and desserts.

Inside a breathtaking 5-star hotel overlooking the River Thames, The Lounge at the Royal Horseguards is a unique setting to indulge in a luxurious take on the quintessential British tradition of afternoon tea, with an al fresco terrace also on offer for when the weather allows.

Every aspect of the Lounge at the Royal Horseguards afternoon tea menu has been carefully crafted to offer the finest example of traditional British luxury. For starters, there is a unique signature loose leaf tea of strawberries and cream which perfectly complements the moist scones with indulgent clotted cream and jams. Beautifully presented finger sandwiches come with classic fillings such as smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber, and there are also other contemporary savoury bites too.

Inventive sweet surprises are also served at The Lounge at the Royal Horseguards Westminster, such as marmalade jammy dodger, gooseberry inside-out Victoria sponge, and Pimms almondine. As well as the signature tea, there are other exotic blends like organic Monteviot Darjeeling, Oolong Fleur D'Orient, and Persian Pomegranate. Diners can also choose to add glasses of premium champagnes to their meals.

Housed in one of London's most iconic areas, and with wonderfully elegant touches throughout, The Lounge at the Royal Horseguards London sits 3 minutes' walk from Embankment Tube Station.

We booked afternoon tea as a birthday treat for a friend and his wife. Your staff were very helpful and accommodated all of our requests with pleasure. All of the plates were excellent and exceeded our expectations. Your staff made us feel very welcome and that they enjoyed serving us. There is nothing about the experience that I can criticise!

The lady who served us at high tea was outstanding. Great service. I enjoyed the strawberries and cream tea very much and the scones with the clotted cream and jam were heavenly. The other cakes and sandwiches were not really notable. Ambience was fantastic as well. My friends and I felt very decadent and British.

For her 50th birthday my sister asked that we (her two sisters) accompany her to London to the trooping of the colour and then to the Royal Hourseguards for afternoon tea. From the moment we approached the doorman until the minute we left the building we were treated like royalty. The staff were absolutely phenomenal, they could not do enough to help us. The food was delicious, alternatives for my plain palate were readily provided and the building had such ambiance that we did not want to leave. We had such a wonderful time in the Lounge that I hope we can repeat our experience in the future.

Very pleasant. Delightful waiting staff although a trifle disorganised. Sandwiches were very dry with little filling. Scones were lovely and cakes excellent. Lovely tea and beautiful crockery even though we had to ask a second time for a fresh pot. Overall a good experience.
