Fabulous food in a lovely relaxing environment. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. It was our 1st gist and we'll definitely be back.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, the decor is fantastic and a very trendy bar / restaurant. I booked for my partners birthday and when we arrived and sat down we were given a glass of Prosecco because of that, which was nice.
I ordered truffle and Parmesan arancini for starters and was very disappointed, there was no taste of truffle at all and just a tiny amount of Parmesan on top - it genuinely tasted like they’d forgotten the truffle but the tomato sauce it came with and presentation was nice. My partner ordered the chicken skewers and he said the chicken was very dry but the sauce was tasty and the presentation was nice.
We waited for 40 minutes for our main, which when we asked where it was it turned out there had been a system error so it hadn’t gone through to the kitchen which was fair enough and then staff were very quick to rectify it and gave us a free round of drinks to say sorry, offered us a discount on the bill but that then turned into free dessert (I’m assuming as it was already 40% off food in January) which was kind of them. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive, however they did seem unorganised and flustered but I assume that’s down to teething problems as it’s only just opened.
I ordered the fillet steak with bernaise sauce for my main, which comes with no sides so I ordered the ceasar salad and chips to come with it. The steak was cooked very well and to my liking but wasn’t very flavoursome and the ceasar salad and chips weren’t very good either. The chips were mainly small bits which after cooking were mainly just crunchy and hard. My partner had the wagyu burger which he said the beef was very nice but the chips / bread etc weren’t the best.
We then had complimentary millionaires shortbread for dessert which was nice, I wouldn’t call it millionaires shortbread though.
Overall, the service was fabulous but the food was very much below average. I wasn’t happy with the food quality even with 40% off.

Really lovely interior to the restaurant. Service was great - Helena was our server and she was really helpful and friendly.
Vegan dishes were really nice - had mushroom toast for starter and quinoa chilli for main, with a side of sweet potato wedges. Having said that, it would be nice to have a few more vegan options - curry and chilli are common vegan dishes in a lot of restaurants so would be good to have 1 or 2 more adventurous vegan options (but keep the curry and chilli as well). Also a vegan pasta dish and a vegan pizza would be great.
I also asked if there were any sauces I could have with my wedges and was told only balsamic vinegar was suitable - I was surprised that there wasn't at least ketchup or barbecue sauce available.
The cocktails were really good quality - tasted good, presented nicely, and there are quite a few "different" cocktails on the menu compared to other bars, yet the classics still available too. The cocktail tasting map was really good to help me choose which ones I might like.
Overall it was a great evening out and I would dine there again - although not every week as without 40% off food it would have been quite an expensive bill!

Beautiful restaurant, lovely staff but had to wait almost an hour for food and wasn’t as tasty as it looked

The vegetarian Sunday roast option was disappointing. The beef was lovely. However, there are too many sweet elements in the beef roast dinner. When asked which beverages were on tap she told me to look at the previous page. The page told me to ask her for any limited edition ciders. There was no mention of any special ciders from her. The mocktails were tasty however were too small and should be priced accordingly. For the lack of alcohol in them, they should be priced less so than the cocktails. Staff were helpful as one of our party was vegetarian and also did not drink. They checked on the gravy and confirmed it had no alcohol in it and that even if it normally did, the cooks would be able to make another one in accordance with her needs

The chateau steak was amazing and cooked to perfection.
The triple cooked chips were the only disappointment as they were similar to oven chips.
The sweet potato wedges were really nice with the sour cream.
Cocktail are nice but pricey.
The steak was a bit pricey but possibly was worth it.
