On the corner of Trimgate and Railway Streets lies award-winning restaurant The Loft, one of Navan's most well-loved and established eateries. This is a lively spot, with bright paintings by Northern Ireland artist Terry Bradley and bold modern décor. The menu, which makes exclusive use of Irish meat and poultry, consists of brasserie staples and daily blackboard specials. Downstairs, a tapas bar served hot and cold dishes for a more flexible and casual dining experience.

Granted the food was good, but the prices was ridiculous. Firstly I was annoyed to see a 10% tip was mandatory for any group of four or more. I think it should be at my discretion whether I tip or not! In my home town Dundalk, there are four course meals for €25 from top class restaurants. I ordered Gree Thai curry which was [$], I shared a starter with my husband. One of my colleagues had Salmon which left a lot to be desired. So one bottle of wine, 2 starters, 3 curry's and 1 salmon worked out at [$] which in a recession I think is too expensive.

Rambled in 6ish on Sunday. Our guest was from the UK and was blown away with the entire experience. we all agreed the food was more than ample and delicious. Staff knew their business without being intrusive. Lively atmosphere but tables also have privacy. Noise level/acoustic -a little overpowering (lovely wood floor and furniture, nice music, general banter of guests and the open kitchen) next time we'll just sit downstairs. Overall wonderful! Well done
