The waitress was perfect from beginning to end. Good food to share! Cocktails not very good though.

A bustling neighbourhood restaurant in Farringdon, The Localist boasts four distinct dining areas and a great selection of modern European dishes, cocktails and craft beers. The rustic exposed brick walls, vintage lights and huge skylights give the interior a shabby-chic industrial feel, with live music events adding to the ambience.

The Localist menu spans the different continents, offering up a great selection of gourmet treats. Meat comes straight from the nearby Smithfield Market, with choices including ribs slow-cooked in London IPA, and bone marrow served with confit garlic and caramelised onion. Seafood from Billingsgate Fish Market is also on offer, with options like roast soy sesame salmon, while a great selection of sharing plates are perfect for group dinners.

Cocktails at The Localist in Farringdon feature time-honoured classics alongside a celebrated selection of signature mixes, with craft beers and a diverse wine list also on offer.

With a packed roster of live music and welcoming neighbourhood ambience all through the week, The Localist is just a 4-minute walk from Farringdon Tube Station.

(Comments meant sincerely and constructively so take on board and then edit if you need to). Loved the lighting and décor and music which made for a lovely ambience. Staff may need some service awareness training - a little pushy in wanting to take back the drinks menu when we were still reading it and choosing. Didn't understand why. Felt rushed when the restaurant area we were in was empty - at the start of our two hour booking, we were told by another person not serving us who seemed to be a manager, that there was a party coming in in two hours. This felt a little rude as we had just arrived. Ordered burger with Brisket but asked to not have the bun and the burger came without the brisket as well. Colleague ordered a Mai-tai cocktail and was drinking it when the bar person came to say " sorry, I need to take this away, because it is not a mai-tai. It has been made incorrectly. This was a bit worrying for colleague who asked "what was wrong with the first one". If something is on the menu, try to have all the ingredients so you don't have to say 'sorry, we don't have purple potatoes', we are out of that cider, which is what happened. Was enjoying the music playing in the restaurant so asked waitress if this was a CD that was playing and wanted to know what it was. She said I don't know. No initiative in trying to find out. The experience was not terrible as we loved the restaurant - service needs tweaking.
