Fashioned in the style of a charming farmhouse, The Little Owl is a rustic haven near Solihull and Birmingham, serving well-loved British meals. The classic brick hearth, oak beams and traditional trinkets ensure it is a cosy pub, with appealing modern touches, such as the colourful arm chairs and the art. You can also enjoy the food outside in the al fresco garden for summer.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Little Owl menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Little Owl ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Little Owl is just a 15-minute walk from Birmingham International Train Station, or 14 minutes in the car from Solihull.

On our first night we arrived at 8pm by the time we received our main course it was 10pm, our first choice was not available, in the end we chose fish and chips and although the piece of fish was reasonable the batter was very chewy which told us it had been standing too long. They have a monopoly and the food is second rate the service slow and the tables are far too close for any privacy. Our opinion is that greed is driving this restaurant and not any consideration for the customers. We will not be going again.

Great pub, lovely people, delicious food, very busy food took a little while to arrive but we were busy catching up with family...drink prices were high but we had a hoot!

Unfortunately on this occasion the service was dreadful, appreciating that it was Mother's Day and it was busy, but the staff were defiantly not trained in customer service, they were ignorant, did not smile and it fealt that every thing you asked for was a chore for them, lots of people around us were complaining. It ruined my occasion of having a nice meal for my mother and mother in law. I won't. be going back again unless I hear or read that improvements have been made!.

Overall, we were very disappointed with the Little Owl. On arrival we were given a nice table where we could take our dog but were told immediately on arrival that food would take 40 minutes to arrive. From the menu I asked for ham, free-range egg and chips to be told there was no ham or eggs so I asked for chicken and chips plus a tomato salad and no green salad. The chicken was so over-cooked and tough it would have bounced off the floor and the so-called tomato salad was a small bowl of miniature tomatoes cut in half - no olive oil dressing as requested. When we went to order a bottle of wine from the bar we had to wait while glasses were being washed and they came to us warm and wet. The young girl at the bar seemed surprised when we asked her to dry the glasses but she did it promptly. The young staff were very pleasant but appeared rushed off their feet.

The food was awful. Had the squid to start. Tough and inedible.
My Caesar salad which I'd requested with no anchovy, had a huge anchovy in it
The steak pie had hardly any meat and what there was, was extremely tough.
    I will not be returning

The only redeeming thing was our waitress Fiona. She was extremely helpful

Not a good experience, waited 45 mins to be served what seemed to be a microwaved tasteless starter then another 45 mins and two prompts to get the main course, a fillet steak and chips that was luke warm. Although the staff were apologetic it simply isn't good enough charging restaurant prices for second rate pub food
