Awarded 2 AA Rosettes and part Good Pub Guide’s pub group of year 2016, The Lion Inn Winchcombe showcases a seasonally changing menu packed with fresh British ingredients. Starting life as a coaching inn in the 15th century, The Lion boasts a welcoming yet stylish interior with bar, snug, and restaurant, as well as a garden for al fresco dining.

The Lion Inn menu begins with rich starters like lobster & squid ink tagliatelle with lemongrass & coriander sauce, and confit pork belly with pomme purée, pancetta, apple, black pudding & jus. For mains, try line-caught sea trout with French ratatouille, potato skins and lemon & caper sauce, or the spring lamb with petits pois à la Française and spicy mint potato wedges.

The Lion Inn near Cheltenham also houses a spacious, relaxed bar. Sample a range of English and international wines, as well as local ales and ciders. Follow a meal by retreating to the comfy armchairs of the snug.

The Lion is situated in the heart of historic Winchcombe, a 20-minute drive from Cheltenham.

Attractive pub and restaurant and a prompt, friendly welcome at the bar. Lovely menu and the meal was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were friendly, thoughtful and attentive and this, alongside the relaxed but professional ambience made the meal very enjoyable indeed; I will definitely return again!

A lovely pub restaurant with great character. We both had a light lunch. Homemade cauliflower soup, ham hock terrine, smoked salmon sandwich. All nicely presented. Friendly service and reasonable prices

Such a beautiful place, we always love to visit The Lion. It's the nicest Cotswold Pub that you could ever wish for. The service was fabulous, Gonzalo our waiter was very attentive as always, there was a lovely atmosphere, good variety on the menu. My husband and I both had fish dishes which were delicious.Really enjoyed sitting by the roaring open fire after outer meal having a few drinks! I would thoroughly recommend a visit to The Lion.
