A charming restaurant just 200 metres from the beautiful Suffolk coast, The Lighthouse in Aldeburgh features in both the Michelin Guide and the Good Food Guide. Making the most of local produce, British classics are joined by Mediterranean flavours on the menu.

Favourites on The Lighthouse Restaurant menu include traditional beer-battered fish and chips and hearty steaks with hand-cut chips and a choice of sauce. Elsewhere on the menu, discover grilled lemon sole with fennel and pomegranate salsa, corn-fed chicken breast with sun-dried tomato and wild mushroom risotto, and gnocchi with gorgonzola and Mediterranean vegetables.

Finish with indulgent desserts like boozy banana pancake with toffee crunch ice cream, or treacle tart with lemon syrup. With large windows, wooden floors and rich yellow and terracotta walls, The Lighthouse is warm, relaxed and welcoming.

A rustic seaside restaurant, The Lighthouse in Suffolk blends fresh flavours with fine wines, local ales and an inviting atmosphere.

As always a very pleasant dining experience. An enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings and attentive staff. Only one problem for us, it would be good if the access to the toilets could be adapted for disabled users. Sadly my island

As always an enjoyable dining experience. The food is always reliable and the service is attentive. Sam, the owner is amazing. Their pre theatre menu is always excellent value.

Just one problem, access to the toilets is too difficult for disabled people. We have had so many enjoyable times at The Lighthouse but sadly my husband is now disabled and he can no longer cope with the five steps which lead up to the toilets. They are long steps but too difficult. We would dearly like to visit The Lighthouse more often but unless accompanied by more able bodied friends it is too difficult for us on our own.

My husband and I chose: Fish Soup, Dressed Crab (as main); Potted Shrimps; Calf's Liver; then 2 x Americano.
    All 4 dishes were delicious.
Service was attentive and relatively prompt. We thought that our young waiter did an outstanding job.

Our one query is how efficiently you would be able to cope with a "full house"

The staff were very friendly and there was a great selection on the menu and especially on the specials board.
We did wait a little while to be given a menu or have a drinks order taken when seated - it would have been nice to have the menu to browse.
The crab was lovely, very simple, but delicious and allowed the fresh flavour to shine through.
