Dating back to the 16th century, The Leicester Arms Hotel is a wonderfully charming dog-friendly coaching inn, filled with original features and style. Dark woods, leather coaches and crackling fireplaces make it a cosy little escape from the outside world, with a great selection of premium pub dishes and drinks served all day.

Classic British pub grub is given all kinds of gourmet tweaks on the Leicester Arms Hotel menu. Speldhurst sausages are served with creamy mashed potatoes, red onion marmalade and jus, while roasted spatchcock poussin is complemented with wild garlic and tenderstem broccoli. Vegetarian delicacies include bean, feta cheese and mint risotto, and the grill selection features juicy steaks, including a Chateaubriand for 2 to share. On Sundays, there are classic roast dinners too.

Fine whiskies are served at the bar at The Leicester Arms Hotel in Tonbridge, as well as a carefully crafted wine list, and international beers and ales. For dessert, diners can indulge in beautifully presented treats like chocolate mousse with poached kumquats, chocolate soil and blood orange sorbet.

Filled with historic charm and all kinds of cosy little nooks to relax in, The Leicester Arms Hotel is a 5-minute drive from Leigh Rail Station.

Lovely garden for a drink, lovely restaurant for dinner.
Food was very good, enjoyed by all 8 of our table.
Staff very friendly, as helpful as possible, even though they were so busy. Maybe a Saturday evening needs 3 people serving.

Arrived a bit early, got a great table. No one seemed to note that we had booked, I mentioned 3 times.
Service was good enough, menu was great food was excellent. Really nice village, we walked around the old church and the old palace as they seemed to good to miss. Never actually made it to our intended destination as Penshurst was too interesting.

Food was good but service was poor. Waited over 40 minutes for our main (we had no starter) . Very little staff around or anyone coming up apologising for the delay or to tell us how long it would be. Restaurant was hardly full either. Had the cheek to add 12.5% service charge which they took off after we said that was unacceptable for the poor service
