Housed in an elegant Georgian building, The Langton is a cosy retreat close to the boutiques of the spa town of Cheltenham. With an outdoor dining area, as well as a spacious restaurant and bar, this gastro pub serves a menu of modern British dishes with a Mediterranean twist.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Langton menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest available ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Langton bar in Charlton Kings. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Langton in Gloucestershire is an 8-minute drive from Cheltenham Spa Railway Station.

My husband and I were delighted with the attention of the staff, the servic given and the food we were served. Our son was over from New Zealand and we were a party of seven family members to celebrate this occasion. We often eat at the Langton but this time it was exceptional and there is nothing negative abut this visit. Thank you so much for making it such a special event.

This was our first visit. the decor and general atmosphere was very welcoming, The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu was excellent, lots of varied choice. Two of our party chose the swordfish as a main. When it arrived at the table it was an extremely small portion. This dish was then removed by the waitress immediately before we could complain or comment. It was then brought back with a large piece of white fish (Not swordfish) with the very small piece of sword fish on the top! The meal was tasty but not very warm and not really what was ordered.

Another of our party chose the strawberry and mango eton mess. This was very disappointing as it contained very little fruit. At a time when strawberries are plentiful this was not good! Certainly not good value for money. Another friend however had chocolate brownie and this was delicious!

We have dined at The Langton many times and it has always been very good but on this occasion we were rather disappointed. The food was really only mediocre and one of our party who had the fish and chips was extremely disappointed with her meal. If the normal standard of food is now what we experienced, then we are sorry to say that we would be reluctant to visit again. I would like to add that the service was very good , it was just the food that left us very disappointed.

Food was outstanding, fine dining but decent size portions! Waiters and waitresses incredibly attentive and very knowledgeable of all the food on the menu! Without a doubt will definitley be dining there again with friends and family!! Cannot fault it! Lovely place too, very cosy but stylish. Loved it!!!

Nice atmosphere - friendly staff - superb food!
Although not the cheapest restaurant I've been to, the food was lovely and fairly priced for the quality.
