The Storyhouse is the most unique experience I have ever encountered....from it's incredible setting, through to an amazing team and beautiful food, though a little pricy for Chester, and I would rarely say that, though there are many independents offering similar quality food 20% cheaper...commercially, you're not using Storyhouse to it's full potential. You currently have the children's library housed in the prime location for an eatery/coffee shop with multiple doors sealed off to accommodate. This could be completely repurposed to house a grab and go coffee and cake as well as an indulgent seating/people watching area on the Main Street. For me, it's a great miss, given the small population of Cestrians who seek to find out, and the vast amount of visitors entering our great city each day. If you're ever looking for a management consultant, on a voluntary basis, I would be happy to engage. With every good wish, Niall Niall Garner MBA, MCIPD 16 King Street Chester Mob: 07548662700 E:

Service was not great no welcome at all was told at entrance to Storyhouse just to find a seat and someone should help us. Had made a booking but it was not evident that any of the tables had been reserved at all. After about 10 minutes sitting down managed to get someone’s attention but she was too busy to help and said she’d come back with menus which she did. Another 15 minutes and one of the servers on her way back to the kitchen offered to take our order but it wasn’t clearly her job. She did however sort us out which was great, in fact all the staff in striped tops who appeared to work behind the scenes were fantastic. The other serving staff appeared disinterested and took their time about everything like the place was empty which it wasn’t. Food lovely save for the kids hotdog sausage which our kids didn’t like because it seemed a bit grainy. Good service when it came to paying.

We were eating before a performance of The Suicide, and meeting a friend who was in the choir for a catch-up. The waitress who looked after us was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food and didn't rush us at any stage. And when the food arrived it was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Although we'd all had mezze before, the flavours of these dishes were all just a little bit different, and extremely tasty. As there were three of us, we chose a selection of 6 dishes from across the menu: hummus, cumin potatoes, vegetable slaw, couscous, harissa sausages and haloumi, and all were beautifully prepared and presented. We all said we'd like to go back and are looking forward to trying the new menu when that is introduced later in the spring.

. The table we were then given was dirty and I had to ask for it to be cleaned.I was unhappy with my dining experience. We were originally seated underneath the speaker so I asked to be moved

Great food in a funky venue. Both my partner and myself were working the following day so enjoyed the great range 0% beers and drinks. Highly recommend using the kitchen prior to a Cinema or Theatre experience at the StoryHouse.

Excellent value - £10 each for two middle-eastern tapas style dishes and a pitta. The dishes were very generously filled - we couldn't finish! Great for a vegan- used oat milk in their coffees for me, which is so much better than soya. Very attentive service as well.

We enjoyed a very different but lovely meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the poached pears were the icing on the cake!!
