A fantastic old building, The King’s Head - Billericay has a unique black and white timbered appearance, dating back to 1750. Serving well-loved pub cuisine, which can be enjoyed from the pretty beer garden in summer or by the log-fire in winter, it has a rustic oak and brick design. Adorning the walls and surfaces are other pastoral trinkets, such as cosy candles and art.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The King’s Head menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The King’s Head ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Kingfisher is a country haven, but just 6 minutes’ drive from Billericay.

Been here many times and usually service/food is good and reasonably priced. However on this occasion I think they were short-staffed because the service was quite slow and some of our meals were not hot when they were finally served. Overall disappointing on this occasion.

I recently visited with four older ladies. We were disappointed with the waiting time for the main meal. We all had Sea Bass. It was Luke warm, Brussels cold. Did not complain as we thought we would be waiting even longer. We did not have a dessert . Two of us ordered a Americano. The cup was only half full . It was not a particularly busy time. 1pm on the 4th. Disappointed . I’m taking my partner on Boxing Day. After writing this review and, if no change, I’m afraid I won’t be happy.

Service was very slow because there were only 2 waitresses. Went to pay bill at reception after asking the waitress twice and received a very rude response from the gentleman at the counter.

Had a roast here, trio of meats, loved it, especially the belly pork, friendly helpful staff, will be back.

Unfortunately the service was not as good as usual. We were seated next to the area where there are openings in the wall. In the kings head . The waitress apart from giving us our meal handed everything through the gap. We were not asked if we wanted more drinks etc. We waited a long time for the bill and asked for that . Again pushed through the opening. I found it was so rude as if she could not be bothered. The restaurant was quite empty . I could see her mainly chatting to bar staff at the bar area.
