Lovely venue and staff. Enjoyed the evening very much. I had the Mediterranean vegetables and my husband had the gammon. They were both excellent. Portions are huge. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Set in a Tudor inn dating back to the 1400s, The Kings Arms brings elegant British cuisine to the quaint, boutique-filled village of Old Amersham. Housed in the oldest part of the hotel, the medieval-style dining room is filled with twisted wooden beams, lattice windows and grand open fireplaces, and the bar offers an impressive stock of smooth cask ales and fine wines.

Breakfast in the restaurant offers both continental and English cooked breakfasts, with a variety of choices. The A La Carte dinner menu features roast pheasant with truffle mousse, braised red cabbage, glazed chestnuts, redcurrant & juniper berry sauce, grilled Angus cross beef rump, herb butter, chips & side salad, and pan-fried scallops with Parmentier potatoes, roasted cherry vine tomato sauce & a fresh salad. Apple tart with Amaretto ice cream & calvados raisins leads the tempting desserts menu.

During the day the traditional, beamed 15th century bar is open to provide a range of drinks & bar food. The Kings Arms hotel has been used extensively in TV and film productions, including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Miss Marple & Midsomer Murders. It has also hosted many famous & historic guests, such as Oliver Cromwell.

The Kings Arms Restaurant in Amersham is a 15-minute walk from Amersham Rail Station.

Had to ask the table to be wiped as it was dirty. We just had roast beef and the meat was very tender and veg cooked nicely, gravy was not to my liking, looked like chocolate sauce, would go back but ask without gravy.

    Hi,
I am quite disappointed, as the only other time we have eaten at the Kings Arm's, was last Christmas Day and that was very nice.
One of our party had steak and was immediately told that it would be rare to medium, this is not how he likes it so asked for it to be cooked more. The meal arrived and the meat was rare, my relative is fairly shy and doesn't like to make a fuss so he didn't eat it. At the end of the meal we were asked if all was ok but the answer was no. The price of his main course was removed but never the less he didn't have a good experience

We stayed in the hotel for 2 days and had a really good experience.
Sunday lunch was excellent. The rib of beef was really tender and tasty and the sticky toffee pudding was superb!
We had full English breakfast both mornings which was faultless.
Our two young grand children were catered for with kindness and patience and the ambience of the dining room along with the excellent service made the whole experience extremely enjoyable.
