Everything Goodwood do they do properly and The Kennels is no exception. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and tentative and where only interested in providing the best experience, in that they succeeded. The warmth and smell of the welcoming coal fire Addto the peaceful environment where you can set your own pace and relax and enjoy excellent food.

I love the kennels and been a member for several years - however was disappointed in the meal - soup was lovely but Luke warm, main course muchroom & onion pudding was bland and dry only 3 out of 10 but the soufflé was delicious. Think standards need to rise again

Overall I found it a restaurant of two half's. As a GRRC member we have eaten in the bar many times and have always enjoyed it. However the restaurant was a bit of an odd experience. It has the setting and the views.. But it just wasn't how I thought it would be. The French experience of the bread on the table with no plates.. With crumbs left on the table through the meal was frankly odd, there was no a la carte menu to differentiate from the bar. The swirly plastic coloured water glasses just didn't match the room and looked a bit cheap... The food was fine, but as an experience.. I expected more if I am honest. Also hearing staff laughing and talking so close to the tables didn't help. For a members club I was left disappointed and although I will be returning to the bar I can't say I will be eating in the restaurant again.

Always a friendly greeting and good service throughout
Food always of a good or acceptable standard albeit sometimes a little safe and predictable
Always a good choice of wines at a fair price for a good standard restaurant
They never rush you to release the table and a nice for a walk or coffee in the lounge after

The Kennels is a fabulous setting, perfect way to treat my relatives over from New Zealand. We were a little surprised to not have side plates for our bread, but was advised this is standard which did seem a little odd. Nevertheless the meal itself was really enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed without being too stuffy & the service was attentive but not overpowering.

It is hard to beat a home cooked Roast Dinner especially after Christmas, but my expectation was exceeded with our lunch on the 28th January. Just the right level of interaction from our servers, 2 courses that delighted the Christmas weary palate and wine recommendations which challenged our thinking. I cannot think of a better way to have celebrated my 50th Birthday with friends. Thank you.
