The Jericho in Oxford is a pub with a famous music history – bands like Supergrass and Radiohead played here in their early years. Today, this bohemian watering hole is listed as one of Esquire's Top 60 UK pubs, offers gourmet dishes and superb Sunday roasts, and has a tranquil heated beer garden.
Traditional British favourites are packed onto The Jericho menu, all with inventive gourmet tweaks. Fresh seafood includes homemade crab cakes with coconut yoghurt dressing, Aspall Cyder battered fish and chips, and pan-fried sea bass with dauphinoise. There are succulent burgers and sandwiches like the oak smoked USDA brisket with pickled red chillies, and light bites ranging from pan-fried padron peppers with sea salt, to truffle mac 'n' cheese bites.
Beers from local brewers sit alongside eclectic varieties from around the world at The Jericho Oxford, and the spirit selection includes many fine whiskies. For pudding, diners can choose between indulgences like salted caramel profiteroles, and rhubarb and ricotta cheesecake.
Still showcasing great live music, and with fun additions like band-themed pinball machines, The Jericho sits 15 minutes' walk from Oxford Rail Station.

Immensely helpful, friendly and flexible staff. Excellent food, the only reason for giving four stars and not five below is that vegetarian options were a little limited... but the vege dishes we had were excellent.

Good quality food served very efficiently and well priced.Buzzing atmosphere.Felt like Neighbourhood local but welcoming to anyone--And in Oxford refreshingly non tourist trapping.Could improve jrather basic wine choices and introduce some more draft beers but these are quibbles after a very enjoyable evening.Marinted chicken skewers, sea bass and burger all went down well
