An exquisite 5-course tasting menu features a la carte options paired with harmonising wines, while a light bar menu includes comforting pies and pub classics.

Greeting from staff was exceptional and friendly, drinks served immediately and time given to peruse the menu and order before being taken to our table. Warned about the different quirky pit falls whilst walking through the building, steps and slopes etc. Table and chairs were comfortable and spacious with complimentary bread butter and water which was a very nice touch and delicious too. My husbands starter was a work of art and almost a main course, with black pudding, bacon and poached egg with trimmings, delicious. My homemade scotch duck egg was sublime, so crispy and yolk oozing out, could have eaten half a dozen. Our main courses of chicken leek and ham pie and lamb curry with naan were completely outstanding and there was definitely no room for dessert unfortunately. Al in all a brilliant end to my 54th birthday thank you

Food as usual was good but some of the waiting staff need more training.

A very enjoyable evening. We travel 120 miles meet up with friends on a regular basis to eat at this restaurant, never have we been disappointed. The greeting excellent ( a little rushed, with an explanation that our order would be in before a party of thirty). Gift from the kitchen excellent flavour, goats cheese, prawn cocktail, pork cheek and belly starters excellent presentation and flavours. Tagliatelle, chicken, fish and chips, Hot, again presented beautifully, my cod must be one of the best fish dishes I have had. All four had the assorted plated sweets very good looks and a perfect flavour selection. Coffee and petit fours spot-on. Drink selection very good. With pre meal drinks, bottle of wine, excellent friendly service
