With crackling log fires and rustic rural comfort throughout, The Ilchester Arms Hotel is a charming family-run pub and restaurant in Abbotsbury. Enjoy local flavours on the menu, along with afternoon teas, with a beautiful garden and conservatory on hand for relaxed summertime dining.

The Ilchester Arms Hotel menu uses local butchers, fishmongers, farmers and cheese makers to craft the very best in seasonal British dining. Start off the day with a full English that includes local Dorset bacon, while at lunch the regional flavours continue with the Long Horn beef burger topped with Dorset Red Smoked Cheese. Fresh seafood dishes range from pan-seared Lyme Bay scallops through to classic home-style fish and chips, and there are homemade pies that are proper British comfort food.

Sundays at The Ilchester Arms Hotel in Weymouth means succulent Sunday roasts with seasonal veggies and Yorkshire puddings, complemented with a choice of over 40 wines. Be sure to try one of the regional ciders and cask ales too, or a local liqueur.

A lovingly preserved rural pub, The Ilchester Arms Hotel is a short distance from the local beach, and 16 minutes' drive from Weymouth.

Excellent food, excellent service. The conservatory restaurant was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We were a group of 7 with two young children, one of 4 years and the other of 8 weeks. Excellent 10 out of 10.

This pub in Abbotsbury, Dorset, is the only one serving food in the evening. We were visiting with friends visiting from France for a week who had, until then, been most impressed with Devon pub food. The Ilchester Arms was most disappointing. We were there on a Sunday evening.
Two of us chose the Sunday Roast. It had obviously been reheated from earlier in the day. On reflection, it was a day England was playing in the World Cup and there must have been a lot left over. Would have been better not to have offered this option if it was not freshly prepared.
One selected fish pie and was disappointed that there was a lot of potato and not much fish.
My husband selected steak pie, which was fine!
