Excellent food, excellent service. The conservatory restaurant was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We were a group of 7 with two young children, one of 4 years and the other of 8 weeks. Excellent 10 out of 10.

This pub in Abbotsbury, Dorset, is the only one serving food in the evening. We were visiting with friends visiting from France for a week who had, until then, been most impressed with Devon pub food. The Ilchester Arms was most disappointing. We were there on a Sunday evening. Two of us chose the Sunday Roast. It had obviously been reheated from earlier in the day. On reflection, it was a day England was playing in the World Cup and there must have been a lot left over. Would have been better not to have offered this option if it was not freshly prepared. One selected fish pie and was disappointed that there was a lot of potato and not much fish. My husband selected steak pie, which was fine!
