Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere, amazing food. We had grilled sea bream on a bed of brown crab risotto, followed by a cheese sharing platter. looking at other peoples meals, they looked delicious too! Fresh pizzas were being served, also steaks and pies. Would definitely go again when visiting the New Forest again.

This is the second visit to the huntsman and I doubt i will be returning in the future, initially we had an issue with our booking until I showed proof of email, then once seated we were sat on a small two people table, which was almost touching the others either side of us, might as well had been dining with 6 strangers, once the food came i personally thought it was bang average for a lot of money, wouldn't recommend .

On arrival told table not ready but when shown to table it had been ready !? Friendly staff but too long a wait between starters and main meal spoilt our experience, 4 of the 5 meals came out together but were not overly hot, then the pizza came about 5 minutes later!? Drinks took a long time to be brought to table

I decided to choose the Hunstman to take my sister and her husband (visiting from Kent) after a wonderful lunch here previously. Unfortunately a Friday night dinner was not quite the same. It was hectic and you could tell in the atmosphere from the staff, drinks came out wrong, I ordered a second glass still waiting for our food and it took half an hour to receive, food order came out wrong and to make it better we waited over an hour before our mains even came out (3 medium rare fillets and fish and chips) We hadn’t even had a starter! We decided to skip dessert so we could get home before midnight.

Had the vegetarian sunday lunch which was excellent. Shared the apple crumble for dessert - very good, not too sweet - had the cream and custard on the side. Service excellent. Would like to try dinner next time - have only been for sunday lunch.

Lovely pub, menu choice was extensive-something for everyone including fresh pizzas with great topping options. Service was faultless, very attentive. However, we booked a table for 2 and was practically alongside another table for 2, the gap was less than 6 inches! 4 tables were like this in a row. We couldn’t be moved as pub busy. We felt management were in it for profit rather than comfort of their guests by their attitude. Felt uncomfortable as felt we were sharing a table with strangers.
