This was the second time we had eaten there within a short space of time. The team remembered us and were engaging throughout are stay. The food is great and we brought friends along to see what they thought. They found it great too.

A buzzing bistro with simple, contemporary styling, The Hungry Duck has a wonderfully intimate feel. Enjoy inventive British recipes presented with real flair, along with an accomplished wine list and selection of craft beers.

Traditional British dishes are given modern re-imaginings on The Hungry Duck menu, using seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced wherever possible. Bold, colourful mains include fresh seafood dishes like curried goats’ cheese gnocchi with chimichurri, and the roasted sea bream with bourbon-smoked beetroot and apple and coriander foam. On Sundays, enjoy roast dinners with a perfect blend of time-honoured tradition and the bistro's signature modern flair.

Diners can add in indulgent sides at The Hungry Duck in Lancashire, such as truffle fries, and smoked butter mash. The wine list features carefully selected varieties from around the globe, with fortified bottles including Chocolate Wine from England. For pudding, be sure to save room for signature treats like the set custard with salted caramel, honey sponge, and dandelion and burdock ice cream.

An intimate setting to enjoy bold, thoughtful updates on British classics, The Hungry Duck in Ramsbottom is a great example of a modern neighbourhood bistro.

Great service, excellent food. A very enjoyable evening. Good value also. Only criticism - poor acoustics owing to modern furnishings which is common in most restaurants.

It was our first visit but we had read good reviews about the food online. We were not disappointed.
The Sunday menu had a great choice and was incredible value for the quality and portion size. You’d never get that at a Manchester City centre restaurant. The staff were very helpful and friendly and coped well with a full restaurant. I will definitely be returning soon

Great visit to the Hungry Duck. 5*

The service was great, lots of recommendations were given on both the cocktails and the food menu.

Our cocktails looked fantastic and tasted great.

The food was presented very well and was delicious.

I would visit the Hungry Duck again.

I’d checked out the restaurant before as it had an imaginative vegetarian dish on the menu so we decided to go with my daughter and boyfriend. We had the set Sunday lunch and the roast was declared very tasty and well cooked as were the Yorkshire puddings. It was served with vegetables and lovely crispy roast potatoes. My partner had a pork fillet dish which was beautifully tasty too and well presented with broccoli. I had cheese and onion pie, again served with broccoli and a mushroom purée. Again, very tasty though the broccoli could have done with a few more minutes cooking as it was quite undercooked even for my taste and I don’t like soggy greens! We ordered some extra chips and greens though we didn’t really need to add these as the dishes themselves were plentiful. We managed a dessert each and we loved the citrus meringue ( might have needed a bit more cooking I think, unless that is the way it was supposed to be served? ) and gin sorbet. The others had baked Alaska and sticky toffee pudding. Both proclaimed delicious and well presented. We had soft drinks and a glass of red wine which was excellent. (Primitivo) All in all a delicious meal with only a couple of niggles...the beer was priced quite high too! But good value for money at £21 or £25 for 2 and 3 courses. I do not eat meat but I did query the fact that only one option was given for vegetarians but I was offered an alternative additional choice also which was a nice touch.
I would go there again as it is in a nice village\town? and is a smart comfortable restaurant, easy to find on the Main Street.

This was actually a first date meal, the food and service was impeccable, as an amateur cook I am a critic of restraunts which don’t measure up to what I can do every dish was cooked to perfection modern British but unpretentious, the sea bass and soft shell crab was especially good
