A buzzing bistro with simple, contemporary styling, The Hungry Duck has a wonderfully intimate feel. Enjoy inventive British recipes presented with real flair, along with an accomplished wine list and selection of craft beers.

Traditional British dishes are given modern re-imaginings on The Hungry Duck menu, using seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced wherever possible. Bold, colourful mains include fresh seafood dishes like curried goats’ cheese gnocchi with chimichurri, and the roasted sea bream with bourbon-smoked beetroot and apple and coriander foam. On Sundays, enjoy roast dinners with a perfect blend of time-honoured tradition and the bistro's signature modern flair.

Diners can add in indulgent sides at The Hungry Duck in Lancashire, such as truffle fries, and smoked butter mash. The wine list features carefully selected varieties from around the globe, with fortified bottles including Chocolate Wine from England. For pudding, be sure to save room for signature treats like the set custard with salted caramel, honey sponge, and dandelion and burdock ice cream.

An intimate setting to enjoy bold, thoughtful updates on British classics, The Hungry Duck in Ramsbottom is a great example of a modern neighbourhood bistro.

Really lovely food from the fixed price menu locally sourced where possible. Interesting and varied menu. Knowledgeable staff with good personal service and attention to detail. The red mullet starter was sublime.

Friendly staff. Lily was lovely. Set menu items were good restaurant standard and the recommended wine just right for us.. Altogether an enjoyable meal. Will definitely go again.

The food was delicious and the service was great and very attentive, however I would recommend that the staff are trained on wine pairings for each dish. I asked our waitress for a recommendation on a wine to go with my tuna (I normally drink red wine and wanted a white for the seafood) and she replied "I'm vegetarian so I'm not sure" she went off to get the manager and so by the time this happened and I received my wine my food had been delivered and I was about 1/3 of the way through the dish.

Only a small point I know but would make such a difference.

I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone though! Our visit was for our second anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to the team!

Excellent food in a very beautifully decorated cosy restaurant. The owner and the staff are very friendly and the food was cooked really well in good quantity. We had the wood pigeon and the soup for starters, the flank steak for main and the dark chocolate and sea salt brownie for dessert and we hadn't had such good food for a long time! We will definitely visit again!
