A stunningly converted old tramshed, Salt Bar & Kitchen Saltaire is a buzzing venue. The kitchen boasts a wood-fired oven for pizzas, there is a great ale selection, and an always-evolving lineup of live music. The al fresco seating area is also a great summer hangout.

There is a great selection of gastropub dishes on the Salt Bar & Kitchen menu – wild boar sausages come with creamy mash, caramelised onion gravy and seasonal veg, while the pie of the day is always a popular choice. Tender cuts of steak feature on the grill menu, there are sharing platters, and generous salads. The pizza kitchen offers traditional topping combinations like Italian sausage and porcini mushroom, but also includes innovative combinations like roast chicken with lemon and garlic butter and procuitto.

Desserts at Salt Bar & Kitchen in Shipley include classics like warm chocolate brownie, and baked raspberry cheesecake with fruit coulis. A great selection of cask ales and international beers are on tap, and a select wine list is also available.

Also serving up popular Sunday roasts, Salt Bar & Kitchen is an energetic, unique space. Saltaire Rail Station is only 9 minutes' walk away.

This is the second time we have dined here. The first time was last year when we went to a local café and the menu had changed - there just wasn't anything we fancied on it. So we ended up going into the Hop for the first time and we enjoyed it so much that we were glad the other café had let us down. We hadn't booked a table that time but we were quickly accommodated in bar area for a meal. The food and service was great. So when we was coming back to Saltaire for an event The Hop was our first choice and we decided to book a table in advance. This time we were in the restaurant part and what a lovely room it is. My husband had the burger and I had the lamb shank with vegetables. We both really enjoyed our meals. They were delicious and well presented. The staff were friendly and efficient. The main meals were very generous so we didn't have room for a dessert. The name has changed from The Hop to Salt Bar and Kitchen but we are glad to find that the quality of the experience is just as good. We will always choose The Salt Bar and Kitchen as our first choice for dining.

Great pizzas! Bit too noisy for my personal taste on a Friday evening for food, but would be suitable for a group dining experience.

Lovely freshly prepared food. We were a group of 8 people and everyone was pleased with their choices. The pizzas are really good and the burgers had all the usual accompaniments including onion rings. The staff were lovely and service was good. We will definitely be returning.

We booked for a table of 5 and had the early bird menu. Seating was good with plenty of space. Food arrived promptly and was well prepared. Prices are reasonable with a surcharge on the more expensive items (Steaks etc). There was a good range of beers soft drinks as well.

Brilliant meal, just as good as the previous incarnations (the Hop and the Tramshed) but decor and ambience even better.
only comment is that a better lids menu would be appreciated. Not all kids only eat burgers and pizzas with no vegetables! Smaller portions of other menu options perhaps?
