What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £11.50 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Named after a spy hole in the side of the building which enabled 18th-century sailors and smugglers to keep watch for customs men, The Hole in the Wall – Bristol is a refurbished pub with a beer garden for al fresco dining. Serving unpretentious British food, the pub enjoys cosy interiors, including cushioned benches, stone walls and fireplaces.
Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Hole in the Wall menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.
A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Hole in the Wall – Bristol cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.
The Hole in the Wall in Bristol is a 10-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads Rail Station.

The food was really nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. I had the kofta and that was excellent. My husband had the rib eye steak and that was very good. My only complaint was that it was really warm and there was no air conditioning, but that wasn't the fault of the staff, who were lovely.
